let me say it first, expect great things to come from these guys.
fave songs:
She's a Jar
Pieholden Suite
How to Fight Loneliness
Via Chicago
My Darling
In a Future Age
on the other hand, most of the up tempo tunes are getting old

I love their sound but I wish they did more catchy stuff such as the delightful "Twin Killers" and "Wrong Time Capsule" on The Runners Four.
They don't come close to Wilco to me, but it's not comparable anyway, they're more in the Sonic Youth league. Wilco isn't a noise band, Jeff Tweedy is a real tunesmith.

damn, I'm having a great evening, I tell you.

Did you hear her new one? I've just ordered it yesterday, I should receive it soon.

I play it again. That album is to die for. I'm in love.

Funny coincidence: I was listening to Eleni Mandell's first album yesterday (Wishbone) and noticed the name of Brian Kehew as a co-producer with Jon Brion. I'm sure it's the same man. I don't know anything else about him. Did he participate to some Beatles recordings as an engineer? Or did he just co-write the book?

I'm a big fan. His new album is produced by Mitchell Froom like his first three (Whereabouts, mentionned above, being the third). The new album is as good as everything Ron put out so far. And he already has new tunes to record, he said lately!

I you talk about the Kelly Willis album, I must say I don't like it as much as before. I like the title-track, but that's it. I still like Kelly Willis, though, there's something attractive about her, and no, it's not only her pretty face: her voice is sexy, too.
I think her best album is Bang Bang.

so relaxing and catchy...
I love, love the sound of this guy. His guitar playing sounds like the rolling river... It brings me peace.

I have to believe that "Goodbye" by Steve Earle is one of the best songs ever written.
one of his best, at least
Now playing March 2007

either me, and most of the rest of the album comes close, to boot. And I laugh at those who said Van did ever better, though I love Veedon Fleece a lot, too.
