  1. This album may be my least favorite yet. Which is slightly disappointing. On the first few listens I liked this album much more than Sky Blue Sky. Honestly Solitaire and Country Disapeared have been my favorites from the beginning and I have grown to like them more. Songs I can do without are One Wing, I'll Fight and Wilco the song. I'm mostly into their live performance at this point anyway. Even when I listen to them it's almost always the audio from the Ashes download, the Residency Night 1 bootleg or Kickin' TV.

  2. There's a new FAQ section on the festival website.

    http://solidsoundfestival.com/info/f-a-q

No smoking. Understandable but I hope they allow some ins and outs if I want to step away from the crowd for a cigarette.

Did we already know the art or is this new too?

Art on display in the galleries during the festival includes the Sol LeWitt Retrospective (chosen #1 exhibition of the year by Time magazine); Inigo Manglano Ovalleʼs Gravity is a Force to be Reckoned with; a major exhibition of work by Petah Coyne; Material World: Sculpture to Environment; Leonard Nimoyʼs Secret Selves; and a new installation by Michael Oatman.
  3. I have tossed a Clarksburg Reservation back to them. I cancelled and will be mailing in my deposit for my Windsor Lake Reservation.

People should post here if they get their tickts in the mail as well. I'm hoping they will be coming soon!

  4. I can't wait for more information to come out. I have a crazy busy couple of months to keep me busy at least. I'm off to San Fran tomorrow to see a couple of Faith No More shows then a weekend at Coachella, then the National in L.A. next month and off to Sasquatch at the end of May.

I love life. :) I can't wait to hang out with some of you and camp. I'm still calling it WilcoFest for the record. :P

I damn near forgot about the Roger Waters The Wall tour, that's going to round out the year perfectly.

  5. My kids are coming but they are 9 and 12. Their first show was Tanglewoods a couple of years ago so my little on was 7. The crowds at Wilco shows are definitely kid friendly and of the three shows we've gone to with them there are always other kids there. Oh and make sure to get some hearing protection for the little ones.

I think the tickets say Wilco is playing at 7:00pm

They are playing two shows though. I wonder what time they are playing Sunday. I hope they are done well before 6 or this could really screw things up for me. I don't see any flights that would get me home in time for work Tuesday AM that leave later than 6PM. Which means I really shouldn't get out of town any later than 3PM or so. I guess we'll find out in due time.

  6. FWIW I have left 2 messages and sent an e-mail and have heard nothing more about Windsor Lake. I will be sending another e-mail to someone with the city who said to contact her if no one got back to me. I have also learned that drinking is not allowed in any Mass state parks. I'm not sure if that rule applies to the city park of Windsor Lake or not.

  7. Anyways, just wanted to let all know there are still camping spots available at Clarksburg State Park, 3.5 miles from the venue. At $14 a night with showers and bikeable from town, its a no brainer for me. It seems closer to town with several direct road accesses, closer than Savoy Mt. I got one of the last lake side spots but there are 50% of sites left.

I think i'm giving up on the other site and booking here. Three nights for $51.25 can't be beat. I have a question. How many tents can you put in one spot? If you have 3-4 people can you put two tents in one spot? I'm about to reserve on line for three nights Thursday - Saturday.

  8. I received and e-mail back from Windsor Lake Campground.

We have staff at the campground who are there now even though their season doesn't begin to May 15th. There is a phone 413-662-3198 which you may leave a message at and they will return your call to book sites for the intended date. If you don't receive a response in a timely fashion, please feel free to contact me again.

I have put in two messages, yesterday and today. Hopefully they call Monday so I can get this squared away soon.

  9. Just spoke to MoCa on the phone. They are being sneaky about total number of tickets but she did say it was somewhere between 5K and 10K total capacity She said she wasn't certain on how many have sold because she hasn't received online sales numbers yet.

  10. I'm jealous, I only live a few hours away from this thing but I can't strike up any interest amongst the people I know who are into the band. I guess I need to get to know more spontaneous Wilco fans! :lol

never let other people's lack of interest stop you from doing anything :) I learned this a while ago. I'm flying from Phoenix and I don't know anyone and you're only a few hours drive!

I guess I better prepare to buy tickets as soon as they go on sale tomorrow as well. I hate unexpected expenses but I'll make it work.

  11. I went back and forth, thought about the Residency and how I would feel if I missed this and I just couldn't pass it up.

This is what I thought about. I only made it to night one of the Residency but it was sooo worth it. I tried getting tickets outside for the 2nd night but nobody was selling. This is going to be such an amazing and unique experience and i'm totally digging the location even though it's the other side of the damn country. I'm damn near giddy about this which is why I have more posts in the last 2 days than I probably had total for the past several years.

  12. The park that is closed for camping is Windsor Lake/Historic Valley is basically the same spot but Windsor Lake camping says it's closed and Historic Valley says it's not. They may be two different spots.

Living only 5 miles away, I've never found a reason to camp there. Either way, yes, big steep climb. Cammping within walking distance is gonna be tough. Hoteling within walking distance looks like it's sold out. I dont' know where they are going to park everyone - shuttles mentioned.

Williamstown is a 10 minute drive away so if I were you and I was thinking about a hotel I'd jump on something right away.

I'm gonna hold out for the campground info. Even if I have to camp a bit futher out of town it's going to be a couple hundred bucks cheaper than a hotel. I don't mind driving to the event each day even though it sounds like parking is going to be difficult.

  13. Because I think, and I may be wrong, that's it's closed.

Interesting. I have a call and an e-mail into someone with the city who was listed as contact info on that page. I'm guessing i'll have an answer by tomorrow. I did speak to the lady today and she wasn't even aware she was listed as the contact person for the camp site. Then she gave me a number to call and it was for the cemetary. lol. I called back and she apologized and gave me another number but it was for the Historic Valley Campground and I left a message there. Though the lady on the phone did say that campground was walking distance if you like a STEEP hike and didn't mention it being closed.

so at this point, I'll see what kind of reply I get.

  14. What prices were people seeing at the Holiday Inn before they got booked up?

Mind you, I was stoned as shit but I could swear when I looked on the day this was announced (Tuesday?) I saw prices at that holiday in between 100-120.

  15. Thanks for the info Mizzy and the repost of the billboard article Worshipper. Anyone else interested in the renting a car/camping idea? Would be cool to coordinate to where we can share the cost of a rental and camp in North Adams and commute back and forth to venue and stuff.

I'm also down for any type of meetup. I'm going to look at more of these Hotel and B&B options as well but you can't beat the price of camping.
