  1. Amazon has cancelled my yellow vinyl pre-order. So I just purchased on Bull Moose. $19.99 plus $2 to ship in the US.
  2. That's strange. I wonder if it's another "indie store" exclusive that they listed on accident. We'll see I guess.
  3. album title seems to be another gentle nod/wink, since it's just Jeff and no one else.
  4. The loft just posted it's a "series". On Facebook. So one a year? Two a year?
  5. Well here is the thing...if he is planning on releasing "session 2" I'm willing to bet an actual "box set" will be created to hold both lps.
  6. He would be silly not to have it at the show. Now signed copies is asking a bit much. Possible a color variant just for festival goers is more reasonable.
  7. Almost pulled the trigger on the puzzle box, but just couldn't justify $20 for a novelty I'll never use that will just take up more space in my cabinet. If the box set had extra linear notes or heaven forbid more music, it would be a no brainer. Went with the "piss yellow" vinyl on Amazon instead. Is anyone kinda disappointed that this isn't a double vinyl? I mean these aren't new songs, he could easily have recorded and mastered more material. That version of Laminated Cat does sound nice though.
  8. Miracle Legion just announced that they are playing MASS MOCA in April...would they play the same venue twice in one year?
  9. My money is on Courtney Barnett and Big Thief
  10. Is there a pretty good chance we will see two nights of Wilco and one Tweedy performance like last time?
  11. Hootenanny is my least favorite Replacements album. Gary's got a boner or tommy gets his tonsils out would have at least been funny. Would have loved something from Tim, Pleased to Meet Me, or even Let it Be. They didn't play the best Kinks song either. Would have preferred they cover Strangers (like Golden Smog) or something off Arthur or Village Green. I think my other complaint about the covers show, was they seemed to play them without much interpretation. I realize they played a long set of nothing but covers, so I'm sure it was difficult just learning all those songs, but I would ha
  12. I liked the covers set, but to be honest I didn't like some of the covers they choose to play. They played some of my favorite artists, but a lot of their songs I don't care for. I mean out of all the Replacements songs....
  13. The black vinyl is 180g, and while that doesn't mean it will sound "better". The heavy vinyl is more durable and has less chance of warping over time. That being said it's not as "sexy" as the colored vinyl, so there is your trade off. Like the above poster said, it has more to do where the vinyl was pressed and QC. Since the "vinyl craze" is still in full force, these "limited edition" copies can get farmed out to pressing plants that may not have the same quality control standards as the big pressing plants. If this keeps up, you will see more records advertised based on where they were
  14. I got a signed copy of the vinyl in the mail courtesy of Tony Marghertia Management. I was hoping it would be a 180g black version, but it was the orange vinyl. Thankfully my original pre-ordered copy is in good shape. I'll probably just frame this one, but would have switched out the records if I could.
  15. lol...well I guess I cancelled my reservation a day too soon! lol...Can't afford it this year either way. Super jealous of all those going.
  16. ok..who wants to be the guinea pig and tell me which Schmilco show is worth downloading. I would think the Seattle show would sound "weird" due to the incident off stage.
  17. so update, the issue was resolved and I was refunded, after being told they wouldn't , but I have cancelled my reservation.
  18. So I may have been ripped off by one of the local motels in Williamstown. I am extremely livid at the moment. For a small town, some of the local business folks sure act like big city crooks. I'll keep the motel involved quiet for now, as I hopefully await a resolution in my favor. Let's just say it's really turned me off to this festival...which is sad. ...and it hasn't even been announced yet!
  19. Having spent a lot of time now with Schmilco, I can safely say I like it a lot more than Star Wars. These songs take time for sure, it's definitely a grower, but I also think the songs are way more rewarding.
  20. So... I finally got a chance to play my orange copy (first record in yet new house!) and it sounds great. Thank goodness. Very little to no surface noise. The second side seems a little wobbly but plays back just fine.
  21. I have the orange vinyl, but I'm currently moving and haven't been able to play it on my table yet. Hopefully it's ok..but based on what I'm reading most people ended up with "bad" copies.
  22. Didn't they already admit there was a defect with the orange vinyl? Which was supposed to cause a delay? Did anyone's actually get delayed? Doesn't seem like it.
  23. oh man, I hope this isn't the case. I had the same issue with the colored version of the Sufjan Stevens vinyl. I rarely listen to it now. it's really noticeable on quiet records too.
  24. It's definitely a grower. Liking it more after 10 or so listens
