  1. Yes, I'm the commenter that called him a "douche nozzle"
  2. http://www.wweek.com/music/2016/08/30/local-dad-ranks-every-wilco-album/ Here is a rather terrible article. I disagree with almost all of it. He states Schmilco is "concert filler" for their "Dad Rock" anthems. Ugh...
  3. Guessing they waited for the smaller venue to unleash the new set up
  4. Seems like the same old Star Wars set to me. Probably won't change it up until the album formally releases .
  5. I hear them mostly due to Pandora , but I also break out their records and listen. I'd say at least 2-3 times a month , not including Pandora. Which is basically weekly
  6. If record stores are starting to get it, it's only a matter of time. It's very hard to control employee leaks. I hope they get their wish and make it until Sept. 6th, but I think that's "wishful thinking". Getting close!!
  7. It hasn't popped up online anywhere from what I can tell. I have to say, they"ve done a really good job keeping this under wraps. Especially when several media outlets have a copy.
  8. This actually happened to me as well. The album apparently leaked on accident, but the management team caught it. I never got to download it, but they are sending me a signed copy of the vinyl. Which is pretty awesome. I'll probably frame it considering I already have a copy (the orange one) pre ordered.
  9. I rode my bike 10 or so miles to get a copy of pearl jam Vs. when it came out.
  10. At this point I think I will just wait until the album drops/leaks before listening to any new songs. Listening to singles kind of ruins the initial album experience.
  11. Awesome, please leak the album beforehand.
  12. Well, what else are we supposed to talk about? We are spoiled these days and are used to hearing the record before the reviews. So that's all we have now. Once it leaks or released I'm sure there will be an "impressions" thread. I do think it's a little strange that spencer would be credited on the record. It kinda proves my theory that a lot of these songs were written around the same time as tweedy songs were, and Jeff picked which Songs he wanted for each band. How would you feel if Spencer became the full time drummer of Wilco....
  13. Spencer plays drums...yeah. That's not wilco.
  14. Yeah, my expectations on this have been pretty low, and the reviews are starting to reverse that. Which is dangerous.
  15. Not only my favorite Neil Young album, it's also one of my favorite albums of all time. Top 10 material.
  16. A review from from Uncut magazine has surfaced. 9/10. They call it their "On the Beach". Which has me super excited to say the least.
  17. I pre-ordered the record the minute it was announced, and will try to find a copy the minute it leaks. Sorry, I have no control for stuff like this.
  18. How long have you not had it? Surprised it hasn't leaked by now.
  19. It was longer that two weeks, I believe closer to 2 months from what I remember, and that my have only been the initial recordings. I guess it's all opinion, but I think Whole Love stands out with their strongest output. it's also produced and layered very well. It's a very dense record, which I feel is the result of all that studio time. Songs like the one take One Sunday Morning, couldn't really occur in a piecemeal process.
  20. Based on my limited knowledge, it seems that Jeff wrote a ton of new material, and just hand picked what he thought would work as Tweedy songs, and what would work as Wilco songs. Possible the Wilco songs needed something more, that the rest of the gang came to help out on. There are a number of bands (and especially pop stars) that record separate tracks and then mix them all together for the end process. It's nothing new. But I do think it takes a little away from the overall coherence of an album. It's also a lot less romantic to think of the album being put together in pieces instead of
  21. Find it funny they show a Tweedy video on a Wilco post. Whoops!
