this is the worst radio show on radio. smirking, horse shit comedy for smug douche bags. gimme the howard stern show 4 days a week and twice on sunday

did anyone check out the comments section for this article?

they are probably my favorite current rock band besides wilco. the three best/most mind blowing albums i have heard in recent years have been blueberry boat, yankee hotel, and madvillainy. 'bitter tea' is very good and 'ep' has some really amazing songs (smelling cigarettes, cousin chris, evergreen etc)

of course not. you can't just be amazon.coming it up having shit sent to your cell or something like that. you live in a cultural void other than books, although sometimes they get to watch tv I think.

...i guess this is part of the "blue state, yeah!" "get and and vote!" moderate liberal sensibilities in 07 go barack obama, yeah! initiative. anyone agree with me at all? flame on

...i would say that PHC is aggresively irritating at worst and frighteningly mediocre at best

i did not realize this, thanks for pointing that out. ...that is one sweet guitar break, very possibly my favorite on the album.

I just wrote my dear wilco friend and tried tried to fill him in on what Sky Blue Sky has in store for him. This is my take on the new record. Did I hit the nail on the head, or no not really? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For 10-12 listens I could have counted myself skeptical. (how do you possibly live up to expectations when albums are dropped so infrequently, ya know? nothing less than mindblowing will do.) I think it took me lo

...i'm going to veer to a wildly different genre and say that MF Doom is up there with Wilco for me. his releases are quality... as a solo artist Operation: Doomsday. MM Food, and Viktor Vaughn are top shelf hip hop albums. his collaboration with the amazing producer Madlib, Madvillain, put out pretty much the best hiphop album ever, a record that I would describe as his sort of "yankee hotel foxtrot" to some extent. Wilco + MF Doom is a good combo here in the modern music scene. ....i do hold Spoon in high esteem as well.

haha...i assure you my inquiries are genuine. this is not a fabricated scenario, although i can see why you'd think that.

this was my sort of kneejerk reaction to the new album as well. didn't appear to be the strongest of jeff tweedy songwriting albums. im waiting for someone to take issue with me on this, as i'd like to hear the counterpoints as well as a specific song where the songwriting really shines. again, my instant reaction to "on and on and on" was that the opening stanza was easily the most hallmark-esque kinda like newage bullshit generic songwriting i've heard from these guys. ...still think i like the album a lot though.

oh i meant "in the hole" as in solitary confinement. do you guys think this is a superior wilco album in terms of songwriting? my first impression, having barely heard the thing once and certainly subject to change, is that it may not be. the opening lines of "on and on and on" for instance sorta bothered me. (the part leading up to and including "not ignoring whats inside" or whatever)

I have a friend who recently began a stint in prison. He was put "in the hole" for 10 days and said he would transcribe Wilco lyrics on the wall to try to maintain his sanity. When I write him letters, I usually end with lyrics from a Wilco song. I'm sure its going to be killing him that there is a new Wilco album out and he won't be able to hear it. Anyway, anyone got any lyrics from the new LP for a future inclusion? What song would you recommend starting with for poignancy, poetic merit etc?
