I was playing that song on my iPod when I went through the drive-thru at Wendy's like 2 days after it leaked and the cashier said, "that sounds like a really great song." And she was probably mid 40s, working at Wendy's.

Well, as a fan also from San Diego let me just say that I (somewhat) share your grief.

I was really bummed when I realized they weren't coming here, but got kind of excited at the prospect of a road trip to either LA, Pomona, Tuscon or even Vegas!

Road trips to shows are the best, and in the past I've gone to Vegas, LA, San Francisco and even Denver to see a show!

However, funds being real tight right now I don't think I'm going to make any of these shows.

I missed it last time they were here, and I guess I'm going to miss them again.

That is sad to hear.

Unrelated: Am I the only person in the world who made ZERO connection between Jeff puking and the mixing scene in IATTBYH? I never thought it was, "Jeff puked because Jay is a tool," I always just read it as, "Mixing's a bitch, and so am I!" Just a general bad-day-at-the-studio vibe and not a "this is what the relationship is doing to me!" thing.

I'm with you speed, I never put the two together. I always just thought it was part of Jeff's anxieties and he did it often.

Ok, well it turns out that I couldn't get to my pm's ("My Conversations") because stupid IE8 doesn't fully get this board...firefox does just fine. IE8 is just loading a blank page or an error message when I try to visit the forums.

 

And I'm still thinking about whacking the monitor to see if it brings back the emoticons. Either that or fiddling with the vertical hold dial....

It might be time to get out the old rabbit-ears...

First let me say to Solace, Thank you for all the time and effort you put into this site so us miscreants can lurk and complain.

I know first hand that it's not easy to mod/admin a message board, especially one with as many members as VC.

With that being said, I have been noticing quite a few glitches in the quote option. Sometimes it's in a box sometimes not, and when it's not it's hard to tell that it's a quote.

Also smiley's in quotes sometimes adds a bunch of BBcode that isn't necessary.

All things that will probably start working themselves out, but thought it was worth a mention.

just listening to Wilco and Jay's music today - will probably listen to my taped interviews with Jay as well. I don't know when, but I suspect I'll make re-posting those interviews in full my next priority.

Please do, when you're ready. I'd love to hear these.

It was... I didn't see the game but Mike & Mike were talking about it on espn radio this morning. They replayed his 7th inning stretch rendition of "take me out to the ballgame' as well. Horrific. What the hell is Mr T plugging?

Speaking of videos, I'm not finding anything on Youtube from the '98 Farm Aid show.

Anyone have any links for that? I think I have it on VHS, maybe I'll upload it.

With the recent Wilco coverage, I could see MTV doing a news piece on this(if it turns out to be true).

However I haven't watched MTV since Kurt Loder was on there. Is he still there?
