  1. http://expressobeans.com/

Try Expresso Beans forum for poster collections. I've been successful there before but don't expect overnight success, as it might take a while for someone to part with their poster, but it's definitely a good source for finding your hard-to-find poster, or at least letting it be known you are "in search of." Good luck!

Edited to add: I did notice someone there is looking for this poster (maybe it's you, I dunno), but it is a really cool poster.

  2. I can't say I agree with you there, in many ways I enjoy Jeff solo as much if not more then a Wilco show.

I'm with you on this.  Love Jeff solo.  I won't miss the Chicago charity shows at the Vic each spring.

The Largo run should be amazing!  Lucky SoCal peeps!  I hope a DVD will evolve!

  3. They are also selling a book as part of this 36% off deal, and one reviewer mentions "This isn't really a great deal. You can get the CD box set for $79.35 on deepdiscount.com and the book is $20 on Amazon.com so $106.98 is no bargain."   But it does put the "remaster" question to rest.  Thanks for that link calvino!

  4. Do any of you Harry Nilsson fans know if these are remastered?  And if so, how these versions compare sound-quality-wise with the remastered releases done in 2007 or 2008 by BMG Japan in the obi mini-sleeve box set?  They were a little expensive, but over the years I got almost all of them and they sound fantastic (to my ears anyway).  They also have a lot of extra tracks with demos with just voice and piano. I love them.

Yeah, finances may direct my decision to only buy the extras.  I didn't know they were available separately.  Gotta look into this.

  5. I was supposed to see Belle and Sebastian and Phish last week but both fell through..Im in the middle of a semi drought..seeing Ben Folds Five and Guster Saturday, August Im seeing Steely Dan at Red Rocks and September is PACKED! Got Travis, Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys, Atoms for Peace amongst a few smaller bands and Tame Impala/Flaming Lips in October! Really digging Tame Impala these days!

You are back with gusto!  Glad to see ya!

  6. Great article extremely well written with the requisite knowledge where an outsider flipping through Chicago magazine or a super fan who knows everything could both enjoy.

My comment is about the living room shows.   I totally understand the underlying entitlement the writer touches upon.  Thinking back to the mid 2000's, as much as I loved the Vic solo shows, I did not understand the seemingly sub group of fans who requested the songs only they knew and wanted to hear.  This was either pre living room shows or their very early days, but I was uncomfortable sitting in the Vic while one fan requested a cover heard once in 1996.  It felt rude to Jeff and extremely self entitled.  It splintered the collective spirit of the shows which to me were about gathering with your favorite musician and a small group of very like minded fans.   So it does not surprise me at all to read those comments.  It feels like the Vic shows of late have had less of this, though it still exists.  Unfortunately, it seems as if that attitude is very prevalent at the living room shows.  And where I would never tell someone who paid to be a part of a living room show what to request or how to behave, it does seem unfortunate that this is what is has come to.  Maybe I am overly sensitive but I do not feel this reflects well on those attending.  I respect Jeff too much to act like that in front of him, but maybe it is all part of the schtick that goes with giving 25,000+ to charity.

Yes, I think you are overly sensitive.  Considering you have never experienced a LR show, it's hard to take seriously your comments of "this is unfortunate" and "rude to Jeff" and "extremely self entitled" and "this does not reflect well on those attending."   Wow.

We have a blast during the living room shows, and there is an ongoing "try to stump Jeff" by a few fantastic Wilco/Tweedy fans.  It's part of the fun, and Jeff has no problems with this.  YOU may find that uncomfortable, and I'm just saying, it's YOU.  Jeff doesn't care what we request because he plays what he feels like anyway.  Maybe you are not aware --  each person requests 2 SONGS (at least at our shows), and Jeff chooses ONE he wants to play.  What's the problem with that?  I secretly hope, every year I do this, that no one picks common songs because we've heard them many, many times before.  Again, what is wrong with that?

Many years ago, at my first LR show, I was not 100% well rounded in my knowledge of the non-album tracks.  I was astounded at the range of songs that I heard that night that were out there, still waiting for me!  The last thing on my mind was "rude" "unfortunate" and "self entited."

Maybe you should dig deeper into the songs you don't know already.  Have you ever checked out the pinned threads at the top of VC's Just A Fan section called demos, non-album tracks, downloads, etc?
