  1. I know, cause you've really gotten to know me intimately, as a person, over these last few weeks and months. I'll make a snap judgment here and guess you're a glasses wearing rhesus monkey?
  2. Yet, not a single amputee in all recorded medical history....hmmm...
  3. Do you think it is good policy to wait for something to happen rather than plan for it in advance? And what if a reasonable alternative does not exist or can not be engineered in time for its need? You certainly seem to be placing much faith in science, more than I am willing to bet upon in fact. Isn
  4. Yeah, I apologize for the course this thread has taken
  5. And yet, unfortunately, many of the more, shall we say, crazy ones have the presidents ear
  6. The beauty of the scientific method is that it is, for the most part, free of rigid dogma. When a new discovery is made, the scientific community, for the most part, rallies around it - egos may be bruised, but very little else. Can the same be said for religion?

  10. It certainly is relevant when it is avoidable. Religion has taken us as far as it can
  11. For individuals, yes, I do think it provides a benefit. However, when the final chapter of the book of man is written, and all is said and done, I fear our end will come by the hand of religion, a fight to the death over whose sky god is the real sky god. And so, in the end, the damage caused by it, religion, will far outweigh any benefits. Our salvation, if it is to come, can only come by the hand of man, and not some ephemeral other.
  12. Hey, at least acorns are real and provide a demonstrable benefit, unlike sky god.
  13. Al Gore is simply presenting evidence and data others have compiled
  14. And yet their ultimate finding is that humans are now the direct cause of current and future warming. You've just quoted an organization who is in direct opposition to your current thinking w/r/t climate change. See also (if you haven't already) the following video w/r/t Pascal
