  2. Amnesty International: Alan Dershowitz posed a version of this question (Los Angeles Times, November 8), when he asked: "But what if (torture) were limited to the rare "ticking bomb" case--the situation in which a captured terrorist who knows of an imminent large-scale threat refuses to disclose it? Would torturing one guilty terrorist to prevent the deaths of a thousand innocent civilians shock the conscience of all decent people? To prove that it would not, consider a situation in which a kidnapped child had been buried in a box with two hours of oxygen. The kidnapper refuses to disc

Mr. Dershowitz has continually charged Noam Chomsky (and others.) of being a

  8. No, but, Mr. Dershowitz successfully sued to have me removed from my lunch money. It was a rather unpleasant experience that left a bad taste in my mouth, mostly on account of the loss of my aforementioned lunch money
  9. Alan Dershowitz stopped by a local PBS affiliate last night to remind us all that Alan Dershowitz is still a douchebag. I don

  14. Ah, yes, true enough, but, if the intended message is not received, it is usually the fault of the author.
  15. Yes, M., I have this crazy condition that makes me assume people mean what they say. For the life of me, I just cannot always detect sarcasm on the internet. Sarcasm, by the way, seems like a pretty convenient thing to claim when someone says you
