  1. A militant group large enough to ensure a first and second Bush term, the election of countless religious fundamentalists at the state and local level, and now, a close campaign between McCain and Obama. I love you One Wing, but I see very little evidence that, on the whole, you represent the mainstream religious view
  2. Quite possibly the strangest (creepiest?) video of the campaign season (my apologies if it's already been posted). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vlAKnSCRWQM...heatlantic.com/
  3. From Salon: Palin doesn't understand First Amendment In a radio interview that aired Friday morning, Sarah Palin said Americans' First Amendment rights are in danger. Ironically, it's apparently the press who's threatening those rights: "If [the media] convince enough voters that that is negative campaigning, for me to call Barack Obama out on his associations," Palin said, "then I don't know what the future of our country would be in terms of First Amendment rights and our ability to ask questions without fear of attacks by the mainstream media." 6. From Salon: October surprise: Who's Obama's real father? Brace yourselves, people: Barack Obama's real father isn't Barack Obama, Sr. His real father is -- wait for it -- Malcolm X. No, I'm not being serious. But that is the claim being made on Atlas Shrugs, a pretty well-known right-wing blog. (How well-known? So if you thought the paranoid theories about Obama couldn't get any crazier, clearly you were wrong. In fact, t

  8. From Salon: Columnist: If you vote for Obama, you're going to hell Still can't choose between John McCain and Barack Obama? Well, good news -- WorldNetDaily's Janet Porter has just made your decision much easier. Porter's latest column warns that a vote for Obama is irreconcilable with the Christian faith, and that those who do choose to vote Democratic this year have a terrible punishment awaiting them. "To all those who name the name of Christ who plan to willfully disobey Him by voting for Obama, take warning. Not only is our nation in grave danger, according to the Word of God, so

  14. Great point, because even outside of (some) religious circles, Obama is still viewed as the anti-christ, and fathers and daughters make pledges promising virginity... to god and each other. In fact, most non-believers also share these sane and not fucking crazy beliefs.
