  1. sure... but you are a guitar player right? i am talking about the average punter.
  2. ha! thats the eternal guitar player conundrum... tone. we spend 1000's searching for 'that' tone, whether we play live or record (or both) and find ways to justify another new amp. but at the end of the day, the average punter at a live show cant tell the difference. that said, if a guitar player knows their tone sucks then i am sure the audience picks up on it somehow. in the studio however... as for wilco, i reckon they would be very much into finding the perfect tone for personal happiness...
  3. sure, then i need to convert the power to local power (approx $300 and devaluing the amp), pay freight on a heavy item (to australia approx $400, possibly more)... possibly being hit with tariffs/some form of customs duties etc etc.
  4. i thought the vox ac30 customs of a few years back were very different to those made today? here is australia the customs are well over us$4,000, unattainable to me at least jeff has been playing a vox ac30 head in some of the most recent live stuff i have seen... i wonder if that is the new CCH series. PS - that ebay link aint workin
  5. aha cheers.. i figured it would be something unattainable for us mere mortals. the new ac30s are made in china. they sound really nice, esp when revalved, but there is a certain level of quality missing.
  6. Hello again I am wanting to try using my laptop and a midi keyboard live and noticed Mikale does something similar, although most recent images I have found he doesnt seem to run the Mac anymore. Anyway, what programs does/ did he use? Cycling 74 has been mentioned here before but I dont reckon I have the patience. I am looking for a more straight up program... something with plugins etc where I can select an instrument and play away. Cubase? Reason? Any help most appreciated.
  7. Anyone aware what model they are? That i s, are they the new AC30CC series or older Custom models? Thanks
