has anyone been to korea (by korea i mean sth)? It is not a third world country and has some of the highest manufacturing standards anywhere in the world. taiwan is also pretty first rate. however the mainland, is pretty random. i used to work in the bicycle industry and the factories there are hideous. lack of safety and suitable training are the norm and the pursuit of a profit over ethics is standard. whether fender or gibson or whomever in the guitar world are uber stringent i dont know...

Of everything I have read on this board, this line disturbs me greatly.

pat seems far more natural. nels is a genius but i just get the feeling he has really had to work at it whereas pat always seems more in control ao i pat owns nels and pat v jeff is a fair fight, does that mean you think jeff nels?

Not sure if this has been posted before but the "duel" around 2:28 is brilliant. I might get killed round here for saying this but I give it to Pat 12 hot licks and 14 hammer ons to Nels 11 and 9. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RweTA_a2-jo

Its most certainly a National... Nels talks about it quite a bit in a few articles. A link to a story when he was one the road with the Singers http://www.downbeast.com/2007/06/nels_cline_from_the_road.shtml To me though, it does look like the fret board of a New Yorker but the body of a Dynamic... I havent seen a Dynamic with a plain fret board before...

pretty sure its a national new yorker

Hi there... so around 215 in the vid below sounds vibraphone type sounds kick in... i assume its the Nord? I am pretty keen on getting a MicroKorg... can they do something similar? They can approximate the blips and blops and squelches... how about the vibes?

Gibsons are great recording guitars (as are Martins). Have a 60s Hummingbird, J160E and a J35... currently debating the purchase of a 50s LG1... If you can find one for the right price go for it. But yes, play the bugger first!!

like the custom shop tweed twin... @ usd3,500
-
hmm, dont think so as those had controls on the front panel of the combo. so its not the silver jub either. perhaps an older jmp combo?
-
What sort of Marshall is Pat using? 25th Anniversary yeah? heres another angle of the tweed thing

i play with two other guitarists (rhythm), a pedal steel and banjo. any frequency nerds here that could give an evaluation of the ranges these instruments typcially sit in? and from that, any recommendations for a range i could use an eq pedal to get into this range?

So used to seeing him with a lovely vintage piece... but have no idea what on earth this is...

what a weekend. met one set of heroes - olsen and louris - and then learn of another's passing.... RIP Jay and sending thoughts to your family and friends.

Dunno... I am really enjoying it as an album... BUT... I am just not sure it is gelling with me as a Wilco album... you have such amazing musicians .... Kotche and Nels et al... but they just dont seem to be 'there'... a floursih here, a signature drum roll there... but...the album just sounds like a Tweedy solo expedition... dunno. Its a great album... but ... dunno.

have always had stock JM and Jag bridges on mine... part of the charm have heard some people using gibbo tunematics...
-
Bridge is a Mastery Bridge the latest greatest bridge all the kool kidz are using... Nels, Jeff, Sonic Youth etc etc.
-
it most certainly is a collection of bits and pieces. the pickup is an original PAF, body orig, neck orig but most of the rest is replacement, bitzah type stuff
-
I kinda like it despite its weirdness on various levels

Anone considering purchasing Fender equipment in 2009
ChrisFFTA replied to jff's topic in Solid State Technology
smart business move fender... increase prices at a time when noone is buying... the used market is indeed where its (always been) at.
