  1. What will be the end result of having Donald's hypocrisy pointed out to his supporters?

My thesis is that it will have no effect.

The other day a couple Jehovah's Witnesses were standing by the bike-rack at my Metra station. They asked if I wanted to talk about Jesus. I put up my hand and said "sorry, former Catholic, current Atheist", and they backed off with a laugh. They knew they didn't stand a chance. Some people are not convert-able. I think Drumpf supporters are not convert-able.

Depends on whom he's being condescending to. White men? nah.

I guess the end result to me is educating them on other things to consider and an unwillingness to give up.

  2. I think that anyone that's UNDECIDED is unconcerned with policy. Or, if an UNDECIDED voter is concerned about policy, they must have not taken the time to figure it out. Then again, if someone hasn't taken the time to figure out a candidate's policy, it's probably because it's not an overriding issue to them.

    Here's a paraphrased recap:

Passenger Sid: I'm undecided because Hillary sure seems to be a condescending asshole.

Ditty: You should vote based on judicial appointments. There's not a single thing in this election more important.

    JFF: Absolutely.

Me: Why would a person who is undecided, based on Hillary's personality, be interested in judicial appointments?

Basically: I'm advocating voting for policy (which should be directly related to judicial appointments, but you can't pretend to assume what a candidate's judicial appointments are going to be without understanding their policy). If you like Trump's policies, vote for him. If you like Hillary's policies, but think she's an asshole, and you're not going to vote for her because you think she's an asshole, then you're just cutting off your nose to spite your face. The judicial appointments will take care of themselves.

OK, so all the Drumpf supporters, that listen to his blatant policy lies, don't need to obvious pointed out to them?  I think they do.

  3.

If a person can't be bothered to research a candidate's policy (and actually, if someone can't decide between Hillary or Donald at this point, then obviously they don't give a shit about policy and are more about the CULT OF PERSONALITY) what makes you think they'll care about the judges they're going to nominate?

I mentioned this, to passenger side, based off the message posted, since the Drumpf consideration was the " condescending tone of Mrs. Clinton...as well as most Democrat/liberal voters"

  4.

I'm "undecided", but the condescending tone of Mrs. Clinton...as well as most Democrat/liberal voters....towards Republican voters MIGHT be enough to make me go vote Trump. I think many others feel the same way.

I encourage you to vote for the next president based on the judges they will nominate.  This is extremely important in today's' divisive world, more than anything else I can think of.

  5. Seems every other day there's some poll saying this or that.  I seriously question these due to the demographics, very small number of people polled and the location they are taken.  They mean little with the electoral system.  This fall the minority (Dems) will win the electorate and the GOP will scream the election was stolen.

I also think many people are just plan pissed at their voting options.  Many of us want a uniter.  We tried that 8 years ago and we see where we are now.   Voting because of the judges, the next President will nominate, IS THE MOST IMPORTANT REASON, to vote democrat this fall.

  6. WTF is wrong with the governor of Kentucky? His speach at the values voter summit was seriously f'd up.

Why did the media take 4 days to discuss this? Or did I miss something? They were probably to busy speculating on who will replace dying Hillary on the ballot, or maybe Clintons deplorable a comment, perhaps they were still talking Ckinton Foundation? Or Bill's sex life or some thing negative and Clinton related. Anything but the governor of a state saying bloodshed may be needed if Clinton Wins. Fucking irresponsible idiot. I expect that sort of talk from idiots in bars, not from elected officials.

Edit: of course he was misunderstood, he was talking about the military an d sacrifice. Bull.

you ever feel like the more info is available, the less we hear?

  7. Same can be said for acting/actors, or music/musicians, yet people rarely do.

While a lot of professional "sports figures" make a lot of money, it's hard to say if they are overpaid or not when there is a market and surplus to pay them.....

Is Johnny Depp overpaid? Underpaid? Paid? How about the Wilco guys?

    Johnny Depp, yes

Wilco, getting there, Pritzker tickets were $95 with fees

  8. When your parents did the do at Xmas, it was the process of the joy of giving & sharing that drove those wheels of the best part of a holiday that's a real mixed bag in this culture (see Sufjan Stevens wonderful writings on it). If you are now in that role yourself, how would you feel being robbed of that?

um, are you telling me Santa doesn't exist and it was my parents giving me gifts all along?  :chatterbox Great, Christmas is now spoiled forever!

  9. My favorite location for a show of any kind and one of my favorite bands.  Such a beautiful location, and an absolutely perfect summer night.  And in the pavilion, my favorite kind of physical arrangement for a show; seats, so one can sit before they start, and to serve as a little reserved personal space areas when standing during the show.

Everyone's got it pretty much covered above, except I'd like to mention the outstanding mix. I remember when they built the facility, reading about the sound system that delays audio to each speaker so it matches the time that sound arrives from stage.   This band excels with mixing at their live shows, but this was even more amazing. From my position in the pavilion, at least, it was the best I've ever heard indoor or out. Every instrument could be heard individually, and the levels were perfect for the band as a whole. Damn near symphony orchestra quality.  You could hear the acoustic guitar perfectly, amidst two screaming electrics. You could hear every maraca and tambourine shake, even during the rockers.  The drum mix was especially excellent.

I agree, the sound was great.  Stan is...the man!  Btw, Wilco used it's own sound system, I don't recall hearing anything from the house system.  I wonder if they used it in the lawn?

  10. Any chance you can post the entire article? Looks like one as to create a user ID to access and I don't want to do that...

It won't copy and paste, I had to type the quote I added.
