the white stripes and various correlating circular topics therein

well I used to hate the white stripes, and now Im a major fan. So I def. think there is something to get because I didn't get it before, and now I do..

not to mention they are minimalists...... Which is the idea behind the stripes..... Look up the word De Stjil it explains it all sorta.....

I personally think De Stjil is right out of the seventies...... That is the definitive album that made me realize jack and meg traveled from the past to enlighten america with some good old time rock n roll.

fair enough....... A lot of jacks major influences are actually from close to that time period... Blind Lemon Jefferson, Robert Johnson, etc.

sure its ok...... I just think its beyond bizzare that you don't think their music has an older feel too it. But I wont argue with you about the obvious. the music speaks for itself. Most of it is just old style rock/blues.......

well the seventies connection is stemmed from the fact that their music has an older roots feel to it...... its very pure.... I mean honestly you dont think they have an older sound? I'm extremely surprised if this is the case.... First thing I thought when I heard, Doorbell was "wow zepplinish".....

agreed they are right out of the seventies.... This is one of the things that attracts me to there music.

Honestly though if you dont like De Stjil I wouldn't really bother with the white stripes then........ De Stjil is a brilliant blues album.
