Jeez ... hottie

Well, we can only hope. Seems like forever since I gave Loveless a spin ... I'll give it a listen tonight. Long overdue.

That was a hilarious review. I'm sure the guy in the office next to me thinks I'm insane for laughing so hard ...

I read something about those DVDs once. I think it all comes down to whether or not the artist is interested in releasing the DVD offificially and whether or not they think their performance was up to snuff. I'm sure there are other details, but I think the band and their management has a lot of say in whether or not it comes out, rather than ACL. If someone has different info on this, please correct me...
According to the ACL ad department, the artists themselves own the rights to the performance. It's totally their call ...

I use a MOTU 8Pre an love it ... but it's a little higher than $400 and you probably don't need 8 preamps. Still, it's a really nice unit IMO.
-
+1 for American Idiot. Great record, IMO.
-
My favorite distortion unit: the volume knob on my Blues Jr.
excellent choice!

i had an EH english muff'n for all of two days...the 2 tubes going into an all tube amp compressed the signal substantially...I couldnt stand it, so off to return land..
good to know. I wouldn't have thought about compression due to stacking tubes.

I'm thinking about something along the lines of a Fulltone or Big Muff.
Has anyone tried this?

Damn. With all the swill out there I find it odd that you're choosing to harp on Springsteen ... but to each his own I guess.
-
I'm shopping for a new distortion unit so I thought I'd solicit opinions. What are you guys using and why?

Well, Austin is good for subversive radio.
When all that Dixie Chicks stuff went down and "country" radio blacklisted them, our stations (particularly KGSR 107.1 ... my favorite) probably tripled their radio play. It's kinda ironic how much Austin hates GWB.
-
Austin, TX radio stations are playing the crap out of "Radio Nowhere" right now. I hear it like once an hour.
-
Huh. One of my favorite films.
Me too.

Wrong answer.
Yeah that one was actually my wife's decision (I loved the TV show). But, after all the movies I've given her hell for ... I couldn't really say anything.
-
I liked "Hellboy." Go figure.
I walk out of/turn off movies all the time. I just don't have the patience, especially at home where I could be playing guitar, etc. With a one-year-old my time is just too valuable. Let's see ... "Eragon," "Serenity," "Bridge to Terabithia" (although I did appreciate Zooey Deschanel). Also, about a dozen romantic comedies within the last six months ... I don't know why my wife still thinks I'll sit through one. You'd think she'd eventually catch on.

I've been thinking about getting a loop station with my hard-earned work money in college, which I think will come in handy especially in live settings with either just myself or a small group.
It seems like Boss is a logical solution, but does anyone else have any ideas as to working loop stations?
I've never been one for digital effects, but Bill Frisell uses a Line 6 Delay Modeler (I think it has about 14 seconds for the loop) and holy crap he does some amazing stuff with that thing. It approximates a tube-type tape loop echo pretty well. The reverse delay is pretty sweet, too. They run about $250.

Yeah, they have some decent songs, but Rick Savage needs to fire his plastic surgeon and hire someone to hit him in the face with a shovel a few times.
Awwwwww, man .... that's cold. Brother had Bell's Palsy.
-
I sure hope they don't bury him a regular suit.
They wouldn't do that, right?

Obscured by Clouds =

Well...
Long ago and far away...
OK...1977 East Texas. I was a senior in High School.
Not quite desolate, but Picture The Dukes of Hazard meets Deliverance.
Oh my God ... I thought I was the only person on the planet who would openly admit to being raised in East Texas. DOH meets Deliverance is right!

Get some record albums and a big ass stereo - and then report back.
Amen.
I use my ipod like everyone else but it sure is nice to dig into a big stack of vinyl played through horn-loaded speakers from time to time

Not #1 ... but a damn fine record nonetheless. Underrated for the most part, IMO. I still listen to Where You Been more often even though it's "too commercial" as my friends used to say.

On stage meltdown ... nice.
Her albums are good. Hopefully she'll pull out of the tailspin.
