Jesus this is a small world. I'm the guy next to your wife that kept hitting you up for "hi 5's" I had an absolute blast. I thought we made a nice team. Thanks for being there to break my "Wilco cherry." Couldn't have wished for 2 cooler people near me. However, I'm contemplating suing your wife for hearing loss
Alex
I am considering suing her too. I didn't think it was that loud and I just heard the tape. Wow. It hurt.
Yeah, dude. It was a blast. Rock on.

We're kind of a sullen group, Ed.
Why do we expect artists to be 100% happy? And especially a group like Wilco that has some sadness in there material. I made the comment to me posse during the rainy drive to the show that it would be cool if they played all depressing material. Sadness is a strong feeling. Go ahead, be sad.

I did, I was out of that God-forsaken city 15 minutes after Spiders was done.
Was this your first visit to KC? What was so bad?
-
Yep: http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=510246 enjoy!
Heck yeah, thanks taper dudes. I'll grab it tomorrow at work. woohoo.

Oh, yeah, I funkin scream my head off at times...like when the music is so loud I can't even hear cuz I know I sound like shit. When they are going slow and peaceful I shut my piehole.
Parkville has a good brew pub. I live in Warrensburg and am married w/ child so I don't hang out in KC too much. If you don't red the Pitch pick it up or view online. They do a pretty good job of going's on in the area. We had some drinks north of the Spring at a dive called the Zoo. Way old timer though. My sis lives up there in Waldo (south Kc) and it seems to be pretty cool. I am kind of staying away from Wport (although Blayney's isn't too bad). Plaza is ok every once in awhile (Odowds).

Saw them in Austin, Columbia, and now KC during this tour. Good times. I thought the venue was good. Jons and brews easy to access, nice soft footing. KC has good things, you just have to search since everything is so spread out. The area around Sprint will be pretty cool once it gets rolling.
How 'bout the screamin chick? (my wife) She really needs to get into filming horror movies. I thought Tweedy was truly shaking, then came to his wit and conceded then told her to zip it. We had a good time SINGING and DANCING. This is rock n' roll, not church.
And, Columbia rocked 'cept when I listen to the show I keep hearing sorority girls talking during Sky Blue Sky and Jesus, etc.

Great great show. Enjoy it again, or for the first time if you couldn't make it, here:

p.s. I stood just to the right of the soundboard, and the sound was perfection there.
Dime a Dozen is at full capacity. I noticed another taper there as well. You think it'll show up on betree.org? Thanks, and yes, very quick post, nice work.

I've actually been quite happy with how little is being played off AGIB. Now if I could just talk them into finally removing Spiders from the setlist every night...
AGIB has actually turned into my least favorite Wilco album over time: I just don't feel it's held up. I listen to AM more (maybe simply because I like to play the guitar to several of those songs) these days than I do AGIB and have been happy to see only a few tracks showing up each night off that release.
Come to think of it, at the Milwaukee show we got more Being There than AGIB.
You think AGIB may come back to you sometime? I kind of jump around w/ their albums in terms of rating them. Yeah, sometimes, I dislike one of them but it always comes back. Must be a mood and/or seasonal thing.

She is a true c*nt. Sorry, never use that word, 'cept for her. I listened to her rant the other day on Mancow and it made we want to barf. I think she is a man. Look at her adam's apple.

I think Glenn is sporting the Rhett Miller look these days. Open shirt, long sweaty hair. Great show, not quite up to Duluth standards but closer than I expected them to get. BTW, so glad people finally stood during IATTBYH. There was no energy in the room prior to that point. And plus, "Its a fucking rock show."
Sitting down? What? Were y'all too drunk and stoned to stand?

Way to misspell Brendan's name douchebag billboard..."And while Brendan Conty". Uh, guess he isn't familiar w/ Fugazi.

You're going to see Elton instead?
On the way up from Little Rock to Columbia a couple of weeks ago, we had to make the choice between the Baldknobbers in Branson or Wilco. It was a tough call.
I mean, it turned out OK I guess.
You have totally outsarcasmed me. Good work. Hell yes, i am going to Wilco.

Watt kicks ass. If you get a chance to see him live, go. please go.

Sorry that I let you down.

I hate football.

Yes. There is a VIP area in front of the stage.
Well, in that case, I am going to do the crocodile rock.
-
it's either Wilco or Elton John for Saturday...prolly go to Wilco.

What about the movie, Darwin Award? Y'all talked about that? Watched it last night.
Winona mentioned playing song #2 off of Summerteeth to woo a girl. Later in the movie as Winona and Fiennes were gettin it on, She's a Jar played in the background.

I don't bottle tree. Just sanitize in sink with iodophor and place in dishwasher rack to dry, then fill. Yeah, bottling sucks a bit, but I am fighting having another fridge in the house for the cornies (5 gal soda kegs)
And I am a dirty brewer. No secondary transfer unless it is a big beer or wine or hard cider

He did an interview on npr and played some songs. They sounded decent. It is just hard to picture him singing instead of Zach...and not going off on his geetar and jumping, etc.
anyone heard that tom morello solo album - the nightwatchmen, or whatever? if so, is it any good? or is it garbage? -
I agree that big beers need age. I tend to drink beers in 5-7% range, though. I should have also mentioned that the golden belgians aren't my bag; just personal preference. I do, however, lust for an abbey style at the 7-8 range.

If you have space and a full day to brew, then go all-grain. It is cheaper, usually tastes better, and easier to customize recipes to your specific taste.
You need a propane burner, 7 gal stainless pot, a 7 gal bucket or cooler to mash in, a fermenter, auto siphon, bottle filler, blah blah. A lot of little crap. I have about 100 bucks in my system. I am a tight ass diy person, though. Patience must be learned.
My batches cost about 18 bucks. These are 6-7% abv's too.

And for a way more than needed analysis of technique, although it is good to know the entire process, before simplifying, try:

Yeah, I can, but I am new at the old B&P and noticed how specific some people like their burns. Like, I am way uncool cuz I use Windows Med. Player and it puts pauses between tracks. I am not particular about stuff like that, so if you are not I'd be glad to send it to you. Let me know if you're still interested and I'll pm my address to you.
