It's also interesting that none of us has paid one frickin cent for this album, and yet we (as in the collective thread sense of 'we') bitch. Amazing....
out to the woodshed for a whipping, all of you ungrateful sods....

Can someone download the album, burn it on a CD and send it to me along with a T-shirt and a Tote bag?
The Spitzbergen Side With the Seeds tote bag and T-shirt is in the works....
-
Pretty soon someone is going to claim this really isn't the new album we're hearing but the demos.
It's not actually. The cover was a decoy, and these downloads are actually filling your computer with viruses that will play Barry Manilow endlessly starting on June 30th. The real album is being kept under armed guard up in Spitzbergen. That's what Side with the Seeds was about. And the Camel.

I got my copy of Wilco (The Album) Vol II first, so it is:

Being There
Summerteeth
Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
A Ghost Is Born
Sky Blue Sky

Just avoid Liege. What a pit. Some locals tried to run us over on our bikes there some years back. Maybe it's changed, but the river looked like poop, it was so polluted.
(I generally loved Belgium though, don't get me wrong - some of those hills in the east were killer on a bike, and oh, the carbo loading with beer for the next days biking was pretty nice as well)

OK, after listening to it for a couple hours on shuffle, the song I can't get enough of right now is One Wing. It's my new War on War -- I can see myself pogoing to the ending in a big way
Happy happy joy joy. Then again, what do you expect from a fangirl?
This is the song that seems the most influenced by Neil Finn and Wilco's New Zealand trip. I'd be curious if that changed the arrangement much.
Bull Black Nova is right in there in this regard as well.
-
Geez, I'm rather late to the party. Page 38 already?
I've been a Neil Finn fan for many years, and this album seems highly Finn-fluenced. I can hear New Zealand in it, I swear.

I am in awe. You would've had a great career at Tin Pan Alley. I'll join the others in:

Maybe it's not really the album cover, and just a joke on the Pabst Theater 2 night stay.
-
If you want to delete those posts, I've got it, I'll email you and and I should be set up for PMs in the future, but I'll fix it if not.
Thanks!

Yes, I can see it, but it's inactive and will not download (the text is grey scaled back). It would be great to get it. Thanks.

Looks like I missed the deadline for getting the 9:30 show. Help! (Why so short on that one I wonder?)

Yes, time goes by too fast already at my age

The cover rules. Much like the new Neko Case, I find the complaints come from people who struggle with the idea that quality art can be light hearted.
I would also like to add that the photograph is exceptionally well taken/processed.
Hadn't thought about that, it does have the same sort of hilarity as Neko's new one.

The font is a total 70s throwback. It looks like the font on a bad folk record.
The font looks more like Times German Milwaukee to me

And I thought this was a discussion thread. What did you enjoy about the DVD?
the music
And watching Glenn drumming.
-
...and here I thought I just enjoyed it all. I'd better watch it again with a more critical eye.
-
Has anyone had any problems downloading the bonus content? I made the mistake of signing up for the roadcase first, and I can't get it to let me get the Ashes stuff without using a different email account. I now have access to a bunch of other stuf from previous albums, but not the DVD.
Thanks if you have any advice.

Can any of this really be serious?

Reasons why Wilco shouldn't bring back Jay Bennett:
1. He's not Nels Cline
BUT, very interesting article anway.. The writer makes some good points.
Especially:
11. Forget the Flowers - This style of playing is my favorite and Jay Bennett does it better than anyone. It's a crying shame that this song is not a staple in the live set but maybe that's because it cannot be played by anyone else. In the name of the fans we demand that at a minimum Jay appear once per show to play "Forget the Flowers"
I can agree with this. The last time I heard Nels try to pull off that style, it was kind of weak. Yes, he's still Nels and he made it work, but it wasn't even in the same ball park as Jay.
I always thought that was Jerry Garcia playing
-
Thanks for these. I love the I Got You clip, and At Least...
I passed them around Finn-land a bit....
-
Does anybody else think that Ken looked a little bit like Jay Bennet in this video?
Yes, especially compared to Jay in 'I Am Trying to Break Your Heart'
-
That's pretty much what Jay looks like in every concert video I've seen of him.
And the couple of times I've seen him live as well....
I'd love to see them do this song again together sometime, but I think the odds of that are probably approaching the odds of seeing John and Paul play together again.

I'm so confused now. Maybe another cup of coffee would help. Or maybe I should go back to the rank the albums in the order they were released thread.
