  1. Hello all... Fell in love with this band over the past 3 or 4 months. Been listening to them for about 4 years but they really hit me this fall I guess. Caught the St. Louis shows in 08...

But anyways... I come from a long tenured relationship of following Dave Matthews Band (don't hold it against me)... spent a lot of time on a board for them, went to tons of shows, so I know what it's like when a newer guy comes a long without an understanding or respect for the past history and music. So I guess I'd like to ask you guys where if I'm off to a good start?

Favorite Album: A Ghost Is Born / Yankee Hotel

    Song: Pieholden Suites

Also, can anyone fill me in on where the band is right now at this point of their career in terms of sound from the eyes of the hardcore fans?

    Thanks,

    Andrew M.

I'm jmacomber16 Ants, I'm still a sucker for 91-99 dmb. Anyways, the St Louis shows are up at owlandbear.com If you need help figuring that site out I or someone else can walk you through it, it is pretty simple. I believe they are either soundboard or FM. If you are a big YHF fan I also recommend finding the demos from owlandbear.

  2. amazing episode. I sent a text to my friend saying, quote...

I hope someone kills Rita before she gets in the way

I take all that back now :(

    Anyways, I gotta theory here,

If trinity killed Rita, wouldn't Trinity bring it up while on Dexters table? I figured he would have said something like, "ya well I killed Rita so take that!" This leads me to consider the possibility that Trinity's family killed Rita. I've never really trusted his wife or daughter. Remember in the station, someone brings up the fact that she could have been involved with the killings. In response someone says that "she puked" when she saw the pictures. Immediately Masuka goes, "that can be faked" I'm taking that as a clue!

  3. I am still trying to figure out The Ruling Class. My first instinct is that Tweedy is saying that people use Jesus (or religion in general) at their convenience. 'He resurfaced' gives me the impression that he just kind of pops up. When he starts taking on these modern customs such as just trying to get down or having a new jacket and jeans it's putting God into each individual and letting him walk among us. I am not religious and consider myself pretty moderate politcally, but I think this song is quite honestly a pretty accurate shot at the right wing (GW). When you need to fight a war God is on your side. When you make questionable decisions it is because God instructed you. The Ruling Class has no way to justify the decisions they make in realistic terms so they put it in the hands of someone else.

My favorite lyric relating to god is from Lennon, "god is a concept by which we measure our pain". Every time I hear The Ruling Class I think of that song.
