  1. The cool thing about Michigan is that if they beat Wisconsin this coming, week, they stand a real good chance to go to the Rose Bowl. If they beat Ohio State they will definitely go, and if they lose to OSU they will still be second in the Big Ten with OSU probably going to the National Championship game. The only bad thing about this is, that unless something drastic happens like either LSU or Oregon loosing, Mich. will have to face Oregon in the Rose Bowl. I don't think I could stomach watching UM get hammered by Oregon twice in one year.

  2. I have a sneaking suspicion that Giuliani is going to be our next president. I personally would like to see Barack win but I don't think that this country will elect a minority candidate right now. WHich also takes Hillary out of the picture. Out of all of the elephant candidates, Giuliani has the most name recognition and the general public seem to associate him to New York and 9-11 so he will get the patriotic vote also. About the only other Rep. that could challenge him at this point I think is McCain. McCain is sort of a mixed bag with me though. He served in the military and was a POW so he has an idea what it is like to serve and be on the lines, also I like his views on health care and social security. On the other hands, I don't agree with his views on abortion, school vouchers, free trade, and immigration.

  3. On "Too Far Apart", Jeff is playing a Zemaitis guitar. Is this a new guitar for him? I haven't seen him play it before. Second, on "Hate it Here", Jeff is playing a black guitar with a round metal pickguard. It looks like a Zemaitis to me, does anybody know if it is? 3rd, also on "Hate it Here" the fender that Nels is playing has a picture of somebody in the upper rear of the guitar. I can't seem to make out who it is. Does anybody know?

  4. How humiliating for Notre Dame. I love it.

My Wolverines gave me quite the scare tonight, but everything turned out okay. I'm glad Henne came through late, but it wouldn't have been that close if he hadn't been repeatedly missing a wide open Manningham all game until then.

Michigan got itself into trouble because every pass play of the 3rd quarter was a bomb attempt to Mario. The sad part is that he was open on 3 of the 4 attempts but Henne kept overthrowing him. In the 4th when they started throwing out-routes and plays in the middle of the field Michigan moved the ball just fine.

  5. Notre Dame is hamstrung this year by the bad recruiting of the last head coach. The talent just isn't there like in the past. From they way Wyse has recruited the last 2 years, ND will be more than fine for the future. At least ND has the luxury to be able to say that. Next year Michigan is going to be hurting. Carr hasn't recruited very well the last couple of years. This recruiting class isn't going to be much better when Carr "retires" at eh end of the season. Hopefully UM will be able to get a really good replacement. cough-cough Les Miles cough cough. And he will be able to make up for the shortcomings of the talent.

  6. I found out just this last week that my grandmother bought this for me, and used to read this to me when I was still tucked inside my mother. She died two weeks before I was born. It was my favorite book growing up. :wub

    That is really cool.

  7. American Idiot does have a lot more substance, both lyrically and musically than most of their past records. The only thing that sounds the same is Billy Joe's voice; I can understand how a lot of people have a hard time getting past that.

You know I like some of the Green Day stuff, they actually put on a really good live show. The one thing that kind of irks me though, the song American Idiot is supposed to be this anti-war anthem yet it was on the Madden NFL video game. There was another song off that album, I believe Holiday, that is also supposed to be an anti-war song, yet it was on a cell phone commercial. It is just seemed kind of hippocritical to me.

  8. Bonds, who is seeking a new team after 12 seasons with the San Francisco Giants, also said that he believes he can still contribute to a winner.

That is the exact reason I cannot stand Bonds. Personally I could care less about the whole steroid thing. Do I think he did steroids and it contributed to at least some of his home runs? Yes. I also think that there were a lot of other people that are either in the HOF or on their way that used steroids also. I don't like Bonds because he thinks that he is bigger than the game. He thinks he can contribute, but only to a winner? He apparently thinks he is too good to help a struggling team. He should be grateful that he is has the opportunity to play a game for a living, a very comfortable living I might add, and stop acting like the world is conspiring against him. Sorry bout the rant, I had too much caffeine today.

  9. Could somebody please tell me what the fuck is going on with this dude. He went from normal looking to a whole Matrix type thing, and now he looks like some fucked up Stanley Kubrick-Clockwork Orange-OOmpa Loompa thing.

The dude is like the male version of Madonna or something.

  10. Joss Whedon, creator of the fantastic TV shows "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", "Angel", and "Firefly", has a new show called Dollhouse.

Joss is brilliant writer (couple episodes of "The Office" even) and comer-up-of ideas so i'm really excited. The show will star Eliza Dushku, who played Faith on Buffy and Angel.

(Anyone who disagrees with my assessment of the above shows should probably watch them again, because you aren't watching them right.)

It sounds interesting. Outside of the movie Serenity, which I have come to love for some reason, I have never been a big Wheldon fan. My wife loves Buffy and Angel but I just never got into them. I have been meaning to get a hold of some of the Firefly DVD's but I can't find the time. Does Firefly compare with the Serenity at all? A lot of times a movie made from a series is a lot different.

  11. I noticed that the Tigers were also on the Schilling's list. If Rogers decides to retire, even he doesn't, I would be happy with Shilling in Detroit's rotation. If Rogers came back and Schilling signed, the Tigers rotation would look like this.

    1. Verlander - Easily the ace of the staff

    2. Bonderman - If healthy could be a #1 for a whole lot of teams in MLB

    3. Schilling - Great #3 starter. Could be a number 2 for lot of teams.

    4. Rogers - Once again health is the key for him. He never really got healthy after the blood clot in his throwing arm.

    5. Robertson/Miller - Could be either. If Robertson isn't traded for bullpen help, he would be the coaching staffs choice so Miller could learn a bit in the minor leagues. Robertson is the perfect choice for a long man though. It seems every time he pitches he does well until the 5th inning and then he implodes.

Unfortunately, I don't think that they will go after Schilling unless Rogers decides to retire. Which means that, coupled with the trade of Jurjiens to Atlanta, Miller is the defunct 5th starter now. About the only person that would challenge him is Durbin.
