  1. I just got done reading the Anthony Kiedis semi-autobiography Scar Tissue. I highly recommend it. It changed a lot of the things that I thought about the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and it's members. Also if anybody has any romantic notions of drug abuse I highly suggest you read it. It will show you just how hard addiction can be and the way it can fuck up your life.

  2. The book was great. as was the Dick Rude movie "lets Rock Again". Looking forward to this doc.

I just watched "Lets Rock Again" the other night. I highly recommend it to anybody who has the faintest clue of who Strummer is. The part where he showed up at the radio station and had to explain to the person over the intercom who he was, was sad. I cannot believe that somebody who works at a radio station has no clue who Joe Strummer is.

  3. Hey people. This is my first post here. I was at the Voodoo show and it was incredible. I was wondering if anyone knew where I can get just the audio bootleg of the show? I want to listen to that Walken jam again. I was floored with Cline.

If you can do Bit Torrents, you can check here periodically to see if anyone taped it. LINK.

If not you can download the video of it, the links are earlier in this thread, and use a program such as Audacity to get the audio from it. Here is the LINK for it. Audacity is fairly easy to use. You just play the selected file and hit record on the audacity control panel and it will grab the audio. Here are the links for the video earlier in the thread.

  4. You need to watch "Blood Sucking Freaks" it is the greatest worst movie of all time. The scene where the midget takes the severed head, drills a hole in it and then has sex with the hole is the biggest Oscar snub in the history of the Academy awards.

But if midget/necrophilia isn't the taste of your significant other, The Shining is one of the scariest movies of all time. Either that or anything where you hear a kids voice singing AAAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Those freaking kids just creep me out.

  5. Still a question mark in left field, the back end of the rotation, and the bullpen, but this was probably the biggest hole, so I'm glad they get it patched up nice and early.

I think that Zumaya is probably the closer next year.

The Brewers declined their option on Geoff Jenkins yesterday. I have a feeling he will take care of the Tigers left field problem next year. He doesn't hit for great average but he will hit 20+ home runs and he hits left handed. Either that or if the Reds decline the option for Adam Dunn, the Tigers might go after him. Dunn would be nice he hits for slightly less average than Jenkins but will hit 35+ homers.

  6. Wow. That hadn't even occurred to me. The fact that seats are $150 for ORCH and Jeff won't even be there made me think this was something I could live without. That being said, a rousing, everyone on stage, encore of I Shall Be Released with the man himself, a la The Last Waltz would be pretty freakin cool. And maybe, just maybe, worth $150. Damn $150.

Off the top of my head I can't think of any concert I would pay $150 dollars to go see. Maybe a Nirvana reunion, including Cobain, or one where they sacrifice Hootie and the Blowfish after the encore.

  7. God I love that song. It is my favorite Wilco guitar solo by far. A lot of times when you have 3 guitars on a song it gets overdone and bloated but Wilco pulls it off. Especially during the solo where Nels is playing the solo and Jeff and Pat harmonize their parts, and then at he end where all 3 parts kick in and harmonize with each other. Just stupendous.

  8. am I the only one who thinks Jeff looks very uninterested? Just watching I'm the Man Who Loves you..it's one of the worst versions in a long time, personally.

edit: my god, Nels Cline in I Got You...

edit2: but really, is Jeff hammered or something?

It seemed to me that he was having issues with his pedals or something. At the beginning of the solo that ends I'm The One Who Loves You, the guitar sounded a bit chopped, and he seemed to be looking down at his pedals like something wasn't right. He might have lost a channel or something. Other than that he seemed to be in good spirits. During Hummingbird he was bopping around and clapping. He also seemed pretty interested in the marriage proposal thing. I just go tto watch the second half tonight and all I have to say is that Hoodoo Voodoo kicked funking ass. I was rolling during the call and response.

  9. The sad thing is that my 14 year old step-son is absolutely in love with Def Lepard. He has the whole union jack sleeveless t-shirt and everything. He is also into the whole eighties hair metal thing too. He had gotten tickets to see them live somewhere and asked me of I would take him when his dad backed out a couple of days before the show. I was scared shitless but agreed to take him. Luckily my wife called and threated his dad's life if he backed out so his dad ended up going in the end. I am going to take him to see Ozzy in December. That I can deal with. Ozzy was actually my first concert.

  10. My favorite is The Bends. It really all depends on your taste in music. Bends is more rock based as where OK Computer is more experimental. It's about the difference between A.M. and YHF. Although the Bends is more rock than A.M.. I haven't heard Kid A so I can't comment on it.
