  1. I enjoyed DIG purely for the fact that the Dandy Warhols were in it. My ex-boyfriend is completely enamored by everything that Anton Newcombe does, but I can't appreciate any of it. Hide and seek, although it may be their most tolerable song IMHO, is nothing special or the work of any "genius." I wish Anton would put his said mind to real music and perhaps get some serious training in at least ONE instrument...

That said, stick with the Stones, man!

  2. I love Jackson Hole and the Tetons so much...I feel like I should skip Lollapalooza and go out west instead!

Seriously, if there's anyone willing to go from Illinois/Minnesota/Wisconsin, I'd totally go with you. We could camp! :dribble

I neeeeeed to see some mountains. And Wilco.

  3. My mom gives enough of a shit about Wilco to tape silly things like SNL and listen to me babble on about what they're doing that I'm excited about. She knows who Jeff Tweedy is...

...which is one more person than she knows of from any of the other bands I've liked.

I think she's beginning to pay attention! :lol

  4. Did everybody see Google's April Fool's Joke? Custom time stamping on Gmail? Lol, my brother actually believed it.

I thought of back-dating e-mails whilst in the shower this morning. Now, Gmail comes along with this. Google must have found a mind-reading algorithm or something.

Yes, I scheme in the shower...so?

  5. My uncle uses Fedora for his stuff [he writes code almost for a living, though] and says it's everything he needs. However, I have a few friends from high school who say that Ubuntu feels better put-together. I'm pretty interested in Linux as well, but I copped out and bought a mac instead. :monkey

  6. It's currently my spring break, and I've been either working or sleeping, except for Monday, when I just slept all day. Today felt like work, because I've spent a vast majority of my time in front of a sewing machine.

My "spring break" was seeing Wilco in Iowa last Sunday. I suppose for the lack of exciting things being done this week, plenty of excitement found its way into my meager existence for those few hours... :banana

I think I'm going to a museum with my boyfriend tomorrow...or perhaps Saturday? But then I have to work at 4 on both of those days, so it's ruined anyway. :realmad

  7. I've had two incredibly reliable Hyundais [the only reason I've had two is because I crashed the first.] If you like a 5-speed, the get-up-and-go is quite fast and they're really fun to drive [as was the case for my 1998 Tiburon]. My Elantra [2000] is an automatic. It has over 121,000 miles on it, and accelerates just a teeny bit sluggishly, but starts every time and is great in the snow [skinny tires!]. [Driving that in bad conditions was a breeze compared to the Grand Voyager I was borrowing from my parents]. Gas mileage was considerably better [consistent 34 mpg] with the Tiburon, probably because it was a 5-speed...the best mileage I've had from my Elantra was 29-ish mpg.

I don't know how the new models do on gas or how they hold up, but I would most definitely recommend them based on the used models I've had. I'll probably keep buying them.

  8. BAITUSA is traditionally the album that I listen to for a month or two at a time during the winter. Mostly on sunny days.

[by tradition, I mean this winter and last winter.]

I picked it up on vinyl tonight...can't wait to listen to that!

As for s/t, I've had it all winter and haven't made time to listen to it. I'm going to make a point of it this week, since it's my spring break and all...

  9. I had a dream this morning that Wilco came back to Milwaukee. They played at the same venue, just a shittier stage [the Rave]. At first it seemed like there was a full house, but for a reason unbeknownst to me, people started walking out. I looked back and saw only 3 rows of people left, and I knew that the band was gonna take it pretty hard. I looked at Jeff and could see on his face that he was having a terrible time...to the point of almost crying! A couple of seconds later they put down their stuff and walked off the stage without saying anything.

    How sad is that?! :cryin
