  1. The new one is great. But I think that their release from last year (Talk Tight) is even better.
  2. This is a hard one, because I can think of so many -- and many from different styles of music that are hard to compare to one another. And each for different reasons. But, overall, if I had to pick just one... Tom Zé
  3. Let me know what you think. After one listen, I liked that album.
  4. New Shugo Tokumaru! EDIT: Just placed my pre-order.
  5. I love me some Martin Newell. I don't think this early effort was one of his better moments, however. Still, for a fan, it's definitely worthwhile.

  8. Pretty similar to mine, but I would have "Pilot Can at the Queer of God" in there somewhere.
  9. Up north of Chicago -- Madame Zuzu's in Highland Park, IL April 15. https://www.facebook.com/events/400702390301489/ If any of you can make it, that would be nice. Would love to say "hey."
  10. The think the new (upcoming) one is even better.
  11. So, I just discovered these guys, like, a couple of months ago, which is crazy because not only do the make the kind of music that is right in my sweet spot, but they've been doing it for almost 30 years and have 14 albums out, with a 15th coming out in a couple of months. I just got an advance copy of the new one from these guys (I'm writing a review for the blog, The Active Listener) and it's fantastic. Here's the band doing it live: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ph41_kc6NaM%5B/media%7D Like The Go-Betweens meet The Jesus and Mary Chain, crossed with Echo & The Bunnymen. So good.
  12. Checking it out now. The video is gross, but the music is cool.
