  1. Robert Smith flies on planes regularly now. Also there is nothing wrong, or scary about seeing the Cure. I saw them 2 times in 2008 and it was awesome! :dancing

LOL guess my info was a tad outdated (1988) :blush

and well as for seeing them in 2008 that's 20 years after I last saw them and well....I have moved on I guess but glad to hear Robert is over his phobia. $ has a way of doing that.

  2. however, I think that had Jay stayed part of the band, Wilco probably would have come to an end by now and Jeff would be operating as a solo artist. I also don't think that Jay would have been happy with his position in the band. He was already struggling with his role as second-fiddle, so I can't see him being able to handle Glenn's increasing contribution to the band. Still, I enjoyed what Jay added to the band and miss it. As much as I enjoy the current line-up, especially in live performance, my favorite Wilco albums all have Jay on them.

Totally agree. And while most of my favorite music was made with Jay I will take the sacrifice of Jay for the happiness, healthiness, and longeivity of this band. That's what it boils down to for me.

  3. Probably Ashes of the American Flag and Poor Places. I picture the narrator in snowy cold conditions in both these songs. Despite the reference to air conditioned rooms in Poor Places I always imagined the narrartor when referencing having his fangs pulled as a calmed down "Jeff" after a fight with his wife and for whatever reason have always pictured him looking outside at the snow falling when he says I really want to see you tonight. Not sure why but you asked so there you have it.

  4. Got row J kinda surprised I was on that site the second it went live. Hoping to get first 5 rows. Oh well 9th row works just fine. Yay Im going to see Jeff for the first time! Watched Sunken Treasure last night for inspiration to make the purchase and to make the 6 hour drive in what could be ugly weather.

  5. I didn't like Foellinger for a show. I felt like I was going to get an Economics lecture from that Socialist bastard Tweedy. Didn't he play Dear Employer that night, too? Typical.

I'm guessing this is sarcasm but what do people think of this venue? I'm serioulsy contemplating the 6 hour drive. Never seen Jeff solo. Kinda a must do thing for me.

I have vowed to never see a show at Foellinger again. The crowd is either really lame or pompous. Saw Weezer open for Live when I was in school and people sat down most of the time. Saw Wheatus, Harvey Danger, and SR-71 (if I remember right) and people sat again. Saw the Wilco show in 2002 and, although people did stand, we got yelled at for standing too soon. And if standing when the house lights go out means too soon... Could never figure it out being a college town and all.

Sorry for ranting but I have a feeling I'm about to break my vow. Haven't been down in quite some time. Heard White Horse closed.

Hummmm...well this is a tweedy solo show right? So perhaps the mellow (probably seated crowd) will make sense this time around? C'mon folks sell me on this. Tell me I should make the drive for this
