  1. I love Sky Blue Sky -- it is now and will always be my favoite Wilco album. I understand that ruffles some feathers (yes, I prefer SBS to Yhf -- Shocking, but true). There's been alot of critical essays about how it pales to the others, but it really comes down to one simple thing -- that album makes me gosh-darn happy. When I'm having a bad day, nothing warms my soul more than that simple opening -- it kind of welcomes you in like Grandma with with hot, out of the overn cholcolate chip cookies and a good, rose-smelling hug.

Loving W(TA) -- especially I'll Fight. And I can't wait for Bull Black Nove and Sonny Feeling live (I predict a sing a long with SF).

  2. Lots of great stuff on that video, but the first minute and the very end seem way too personal for all of us to be watching.

I completely agree. Even though my ultimate fantasy is to be a friend of the band -- I'm not. I just can't help but think it's so wierd that this stuff is online. If I were famous, I would not want my personal life on You Tube. I would not want my person life on You Tube now -- just because it's so boring and would have a very low rating.

  3. After 22 days of rain in New Jersey, I woke to the sun shining and Wilco (The Ablum) in my mail box. So -- I got in the car, put the top down, and crusied around town with my boys' music "filling up my car." After weeks of rain and stress at work, it feels so good to finally be in a good mood,. I hope every one is in a good mood too!

    Love the band photos!

Think my favorite song is I'll Fight.

  4. AM - Pick Up the Change

    BT - Outta Site

    ST - Via Chicago

YFT - I Am Trying to Break your heart

AGIB - A Company in My Back

SBS - You Are My Face

W(TA) -- After only a few listens, I'd say Bull Black Nova. But that may change after consective listens when I get my copy

  5. Barbkm, sadly I am only vaguely aware of these John and Kate people are, but I seriously found your last paragraph to be hysterical and spot on. The decline of mainstream music magazines over the last few decades has been extremely depressing.

    Thanks Mike.

  6. Jeff must have shaved his chest for this.

    Friggen funny!

Ya know, Wilco is only good for those short one column features that focus on the less poppy, more rockin originals. It's sad the RS has gone from featuring the real influencial, important artists that define an era. Pretty soon, Jon & Kate will be on the cover discussing the music the kids listen to during the divorce. "That Aiden seems to gravitate toward Radionhead, while Mady favors Rammstein."

Oh-- hate Kate now. Can't watch that show, even tough I love that Aiden.

  7. But hey -- hot girl on girl action while listening to Wilco would be fun!! :chickawow

Enought booze and work Jeff T into that equation, I could switch. But, he'd never cheat on his wife -- it would break my heart if he was that kind of guy did, even if it was with me. I also don't go for married guys, probably could get some it I went that route, though. Poor, pitiful me :(

If we could work Jeff T into that equation, I would totally be in. (But, he's not the kind of guy who'd cheat on his wife -- it'd break my heart if he was -- even if it was with me. But I do not go for married guys -- I could probably get some if I considered that route. Poor, pitiful me :no )

  9. I've done some many of these things: mutiple copies of albums - check; being late to meetings cos I'm ordering tickets - check: buying tickets for 3x as much for better seat, than selling the first for the original price and losing like $200 in the process - check and check; standing in the rain for three hours outside the tour bus - check; satongin in the hot sun for tthree hours before the doors open - check; working Wilco into all those inane team building activities at work - check; decked out in Wilco apparel from head to toe - check; jealous of Chicago citizens - check.

Don't know if I saw this one -- running across the parking lot of the Wexner Center at Ohio State -- in the rain and while wearing heels -- to catch Jeff before he entered the building, telling him that I'm from Jersey, but was in Cincinatti for a meeting, and had to drive up to Columbus to see "ma boyz" --and giving him a wool hat cos he's had the other one for years. And enduring that "Omigodthisone's CRAZY" look in his eyes.

Then there's setting my Ipod alarm clock to wake up to a Wilco song every morning -- usually something nice and calm, like Either Way or In a Futue Age. (Although Myrna Loy by the Minus Five is good, too.)

And doing all this while pushing 40 and holding down a rather important management position in a leading financial services company (not one of the bad ones).

CRAZY! At least Wilco loves me, baby ...

  10. if the reason this is your favorite show is cause you can be seen in the pictures, you are missing the point

if the reason this is your favorite show is cause your favorite WEATHERMAN was there, you dont even know there is a point to be missed

This was a great show cos they kicked ass (which they always do) -- and because there were some nice extras -- like the weather man and the nice people I met. Do read everything or just pick pit bits and pieces?

  11. We must have been right next to each other cos was just looking at your pictures and they are so similar to mine from that night, just alittle bit closer.

Sigh -- can't wait for the next show, Wappingers Falls, here I come!

  12. This was my first Wilco concert -- so it was very special. I saw Chris Cimino -- NBC weather man -- on line.

In the second picture, I'm the woman with the brown hair right in front of Nels and John. I was very happy with Spiders. Kingpin ws great. I even took some great picture of Jeff, but did not save them to my computer. Remember Jeff's line about the horn players , who he said they picked up hitchhiking on 95. "We told them we'd give them a ride if they gave us a blow job."

Are any of the folks who braved the cold and the rain outside the tour bus reading this? I think I had more fun with you than I did meeting the band -- most of whom came out to talk and sign (except for Jeff and Mikel). John was very nice, and talked for awhile. I asked him how many people say, "I've got nothing for you to sign." He said not too many any more, but -- when they did -- he got to see alot of ass. And he giggled dirtily. We even got some pizza from Jason.

I remember that night very fondly -- not my favorite Wilco concert (that'd be Pines Theater June 07) -- but they rocked and the people I met were nice. I was far from the drunks.

  13. I work at a live music venue in Austin. Wilco gets 175,000 just to play Stubbs!!! So 50,000 lawsuit is piss to them!!!!

But then you figure six guys in the band, plus the crew, plus the equipment, plus the buses, plus the wear and tear in the buses, plus hotels, plus food, plus managers, publicists, booking agents, plus mortgages, plus wives and kids, plus private school, plus health insurance, life insurance, ccar insurance, car payment ....AND GUITARS.
