There's a great interview with Peter Jesperson on his years managing The 'mats, on the creation of these reissues and his current role at New West Records here... http://teenkicks.blogspot.com/2008/04/pete...-superhero.html

It's not random but they aren't the best 10% of the seats either. Pre-sale seats are certainly a pre-defined subset and I guess the locations vary from venue to venue. For the Feb. show at the Tower in Philly I got 3rd-row dead center. I know people who got pre-sale seats in the 4th row right behind me but I also know some who were in the Loge (i.e. lower balcony). For the Wilmington show I got 4th-row center in the balcony but somebody on these boards got 2nd row in the Pit. I guess they set aside "some from here and some from there".

Early tour rumors (i.e. from over a month ago) included Dave Alvin. If you know US geography at all you can see that you are far from alone. -

The last tour, at mostly similar venues, was on Ticketmaster. -
Sounds normal to me. But alas, at least through my PC speakers, I can't hear a difference between the original and the remix.

My notes from Philly 2/23...

I heard an announcement this a.m. that they are playing the Virgin Fest. Presumably on the 9th as they will be in Wilmington on the 10th.

One way you could stop it would be by having Wilco play hockey arenas. They could maybe fill about 75% of the Wachovia Center in Philly and wipe out the market for scalpers. But who wins in that situation?

Won't be any reason to not watch Craig Ferguson. Except bed. -
Putting it online wouldn't have made any more tickets available. Maybe it's better that people near Wilmington, De. (as we now know, a state they've never played) had a better shot at tickets than people in Lowell, Mass.
-
It's a small operation. Probably only 5 people answering the phone. If you wanted tickets guaranteed, you needed to go there. My buddy got there at 3:45 and was 7th in line. By 9:30 there were 75 people there, probably all of whom will get tix. For the White Stripes it took me an hour to get an answer and it was sold out by then. Luckily the same friend got in line for that one too. I got tix in the presale, I'm just seeing if I can do better (by now, probably not).

Probably the best seated venue in the Philly area.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

There were probably only ~ 100 tix available for the Wilmington pre-sale. The grand only seats around 1,100. I got Dress Circle 4th-row center. Except for the far ends of the Dress Circle having a hard side-view, there isn't a bad seat in the house. I saw the White Stripes there last summer from the Parquet Circle and it was great.

Really? I think of that as the one major dud in the catalog.

me too (except I started when Sister came out). I've only seen them twice (at the Trocadero in Philly on the Goo tour and not long after that opening for Neil Young). Live, they are so powerful it's almost frightening. Screaming Fields of Sonic Love is a pretty good sampler of the pre-Geffen years but if you really like them you'll want the full releases.

One rumor I heard had Dave Alvin playing with him.
