  1. Sorry, snapped it as the lights turned out for Dylan. But, yes- blazing rendition of "Tomorrow Never Knows." I may have drifted off into one of my funks for a few minutes and missed it, but I'm just looking at the list now and I believe Jesus, Etc. was cut. Please chime in if I'm wrong. Wouldn't be the first time.

Oh and Dylan's Desolation Row was Phenomenal!!

I originally planned to camp out and got a spot in the original Solid Ground location (now sold out).  I wound up having to grab a hotel room at the last minute because I'm covering the festival for a magazine (I need a place to upload my photos, charge my batteries, etc.)

The Solid Ground info can be found here:

    http://solidsoundfestival.com/lodging/solid-ground/

I'm just looking to get my original plot cost back (I'll eat the fee) to put toward my hotel bill.  Price is $90.  A copy of my original receipt (for $98.50) is attached.

    Please PM me if interested.

    Thanks.

  4. On a side note, I had a great time at both shows, from meeting everyone in line, to nearly getting hit by a car as I fetched a box out of the Tweedy's trunk, to passing out during the first night and rebounding for the 2nd...

Haha- I tried to warn you that you were going to black out and miss part of the show...right about when you busted out those pictures of your dog. The best part was watching you listening to the recording the next day and saying "oh my god, he played that? Awesome!"

  5. For once I actually waited to make sure I got tickets to the shows before booking my flights.  Round-trip airfare from NYC was $148 on Thursday, but shot up to $198 on Friday morning before the tickets went live.  I held out and, sure enough, flights are back down to $148 on AA.com as of today - woot!  Thanks so much to Sue and Jeff for having these wonderful shows for a great cause once again!

  6. It makes a subtle difference. The song will sound beautiful either way. I just like the style: fancy flat picking with hammer ons/pull offs, kind of like "Watch Me Fall" but not quite as flashy.

I'm fairly certain it is played with a pick - at least that's how I learned it and it sounds right. I've also always believed that the Dylan reference goes beyond the title/lyric in that the playing style is a bit of an homage to Dylan's early flat-picking style.

  7. It is one of my favorites as well, both from a guitar-technique perspective and lyrically. After the first time I saw it played live, I decided I needed to learn to play it. Several months later, I got there :frusty

To this day, I still mess it up about 30% of the time. And If I even try to play it on a guitar other than mine - It's hopeless (the strings could be just 1mm thicker or spaced slightly further apart up by that 5th fret and it's as if I'm back to square one). I'm glad I resisted the urge to learn Dylan's picking on "Frankie and Albert" - I would have to quit my job.

  8. The Bushnell was a teriffic capper to my little 6-show jaunt starting in Brooklyn last week. I saw them play there last time around so I knew the acoustics would be superb. I brought a more casual fan with me so it was a great night to hear a few more "standards."

There was one song scratched from the original setlist (right before Late Greats). I found out what it was, then promptly forgot. Hopefully, someone who received a setlist will chime in on this.

  9. AWESOME!!!! They've got him working out Wherever, and they keep it going for a long time essentially the soundtrack for the movie!

And what a fabulous request that was by you, John!!

I caught a glimpse of you waiting on line as well.

Too bad they didn't use any of the footage from interviews of us outside - I guess we weren't all that interesting :yawn

  10. Yeah, it's unbelievably shitty. And eTix is kind of a scalper's paradise if there aren't "credit card only for admission" measures in place like there were for the December shows. But there have never been problems in past years! What was different this time? The fact that they were mentioned in the Jam mail a couple days ago?

That probably had a lot to do with it. I was really surprised to see the Jam email - it made me extremely nervous about this morning.
