  1. I guess it's fitting to admit to this on International Women's Day... I'm only now coming around to discovering Brandi Carlile.  I've heard her name mentioned various times over the years but never took the time to check her out.  And I don't watch the Grammy's so I missed her epic performance there.

    But holy sheetballs, she's amazing!

  2. So the Mueller Probe is set up wrap soon:

    https://www.cnn.com/2019/02/20/politics/special-counsel-conclusion-announcement/index.html

So what if Mueller comes out and says, "we did a full investigation and we have caught who we caught but there is no evidence of wrong doing by the President and his inner circle."

I do think this is a likely scenario.  I can't imagine what the left will say after hanging all hope that Mueller will bring POTUS down.  And the right who sees Mueller as illegitimate and a secret deep state democrat.

I do think this is a very real possibility, and I am prepared to accept that.  And if that's the case I think it would be foolish for House Dems to pursue impeachment without clear evidence.  That doesn't mean they give up on oversight hearings or trying to flush out anything that may have been withheld from Mueller's report... but the emphasis should be on 2020 now.

  3. I think the good/bad game debate comes down to whether you really cared who won the game.  It was a competitive defensive (and coaching) battle, so if you were pulling for either team you were likely on the edge of your seat for most of the game.  But if you just wanted to watch an action-packed, entertaining game... well, it wasn't.

  4. Hoping for a Rams/Chiefs rematch of the 54-51 MNF battle from earlier in the year.  Those are fun teams to watch when firing on all cylinders.

But honestly, as long at it isn't the Pats I'll be satisfied.  Like 99.9% of football fans outside of New England.

  5. “Springsteen on Broadway” was every bit as special as people have said. I’m not even much of a Bruce fan, but the story of his life, interwoven with songs from various eras (many of which I didn’t recognize) was just spectacular. Totally worth the 2:30 runtime.

  6. It is pretty funny how the calls for Mueller to end his investigation have gone quiet over the past couple of weeks. I think even Trump’s most ardent supporters are starting to realize that this is just the tip of the iceberg. 2019 will be a historic year.

  7. I'm having facebook interactions with a guy who's currently a council member for the city in which I reside, who's running for a position in the state assembly in which he would be my representative.  Yet, he's as bad as any troll I've run across.  Refuses to engage in any actual debate, uses memes and emojis to dismiss opponents, and seems to want to do nothing other than stir the pot.  Welcome to Trump's America.

  8. As a recovery guy I can imagine Marc might go into Jeff's recovery process, or what maintaining his sobriety/mental health is like for him because they've had some similar experiences.

Exactly my thoughts as well. The best part of his interviews are when he talks about recovery with his guests. So useful and inspiring.

  9. That Collins speech was revolting.  She can't have it both ways.  The real lesson here is that women should always be believed when revealing past abuse, EXCEPT for when the accused is a republican SCOTUS nominee, in which case every missing detail disqualifies the entire claim.

And when Roe is overturned (and it will be), the blame will lie at the feet of Collins, who is either incredibly naive or has been lying all along about protecting reproductive rights.

  10. Apparently Flake, Collins, Murkowski, and a “handful” of red state Democratic senators are making plans to vote as a bloc, so that any one of them isn’t going to be blamed for tipping the scales one way or another.

Does this count as bipartisan collaboration even if it’s just an exercise in spineless CYA-ism?
