  1. Perfect example of why I no longer get worked up about the RRHOF and who is/isn't inducted. The simple fact is that induction is based on popularity and commercial success (with very few exceptions). It's no more meaningful than a Billboard award.
  2. Wife and I recently started The Wire. She's never seen it and I only caught on to it the last 1.5 seasons. We're most of the way thru season 1 and it is every bit as great as I remember. So very much worth it!
  3. Amen... and careful, man, there's a beverage here.
  4. I think Devo was much more influential to other 80's New Wave bands than the Go-Go's, especially given that they only lasted what - 4 or 5 years? Yes, the Go-Go's had bigger hits than Devo but I don't believe that's the most important criteria.
  5. I personally think Devo deserves to be in the RRHOF much more than The Go-Go's
  6. Gotta admit that I had my doubts that this day would come... thank god we survived.
  7. I'm trying really hard to be understanding, but all I want to do is scream at the Trump supporters in my family/neighborhood. F those guys!
  8. Perhaps not quite as strong as The Unraveling, The New OK is still an excellent album. Love the Ramones cover, to.
  9. This took me by surprise. Very, very good. Though I think the deeper meaning will be lost on most kids, it’s a great movie for adults of any age.
  10. The Highwomen (Brandi Carlile, Natalie Hemby, Maren Morris, and Amanda Shires) just won Song of the Year, Group/Duo of the year, and album of the year at the Americana awards. Worth checking out if you haven't already.
  11. Just realized this is on YT. This is such a great doc at such an important phase of their career.
  12. https://pitchfork.com/news/barry-jenkins-gives-wilcos-yankee-hotel-foxtrot-a-chopped-and-screwed-remix-listen/ I did not expect to love this as much as I am...
  13. The Four Seasons mixup is straight out of Veep.
  14. This could be beautiful once everything is counted. There's a good chance that Biden will be over 300 EC votes and will have over 5 million more popular votes than Trump. It only looked bad at first due to all of the mail-in ballots and those states which had laws preventing them from early counting. Of course, Trump says this is evidence of fraud, but I don't think anyone but his most ardent zealots believe him. It would be different if the whole thing hinged on one state, but it doesn't look like it's going to be that close. He's toast.
  15. I couldn't believe we elected him in 2016, and I can't believe it's this close after 4 long years. The good news is that it appears Biden will eek out a win (WI and MI were just called), but it shouldn't have been this close.
  16. Yeah, I'm definitely interested in checking out the Watchmen after seeing Lovecraft Country.
  17. No kidding. We finished the finale this past weekend. Those last 3-4 episodes of the season were such a mind-f*ck. Love this show so much, on many levels -- just not sure what they can do for season 2.
  18. Borat just doesn’t do it for me. Even knowing the Rudy scene was ahead couldn’t keep me watching. I gave up about 30 mins in. I just don’t find the character or premise all that funny or interesting. 🤷‍♂️
  19. Has this been discussed yet? I'm only 4 episodes in, but this is a PHENOMENAL show.
  20. VH was a huge part of the soundtrack of my youth (grade school -> jr. high) but their music never stuck with me beyond that. That said, EVH always seemed to be enjoying the hell out of making music and that's as good of a legacy to leave as any.
  21. I think this is the most likely "spin" they' put on it.
