  1. I guess it's fitting to admit to this on International Women's Day... I'm only now coming around to discovering Brandi Carlile. I've heard her name mentioned various times over the years but never took the time to check her out. And I don't watch the Grammy's so I missed her epic performance there. But holy sheetballs, she's amazing!
  2. Every journey begins with a single step! Good luck!
  3. I do think this is a very real possibility, and I am prepared to accept that. And if that's the case I think it would be foolish for House Dems to pursue impeachment without clear evidence. That doesn't mean they give up on oversight hearings or trying to flush out anything that may have been withheld from Mueller's report... but the emphasis should be on 2020 now.
  4. That was quite the shit show. I loved every second of it.
  5. I think the good/bad game debate comes down to whether you really cared who won the game. It was a competitive defensive (and coaching) battle, so if you were pulling for either team you were likely on the edge of your seat for most of the game. But if you just wanted to watch an action-packed, entertaining game... well, it wasn't.
  6. Polar Vortex Causes Hundreds of Injuries as People Making Snide Remarks About Climate Change Are Punched in Face
  7. Hoping for a Rams/Chiefs rematch of the 54-51 MNF battle from earlier in the year. Those are fun teams to watch when firing on all cylinders. But honestly, as long at it isn't the Pats I'll be satisfied. Like 99.9% of football fans outside of New England.
  8. “Springsteen on Broadway” was every bit as special as people have said. I’m not even much of a Bruce fan, but the story of his life, interwoven with songs from various eras (many of which I didn’t recognize) was just spectacular. Totally worth the 2:30 runtime.
  9. It is pretty funny how the calls for Mueller to end his investigation have gone quiet over the past couple of weeks. I think even Trump’s most ardent supporters are starting to realize that this is just the tip of the iceberg. 2019 will be a historic year.
  10. "Today, out of the blue, my wife tells me that she..." has got to be one of the most terrifying ways to begin a sentence. Glad it was good news for you!
  11. I'm a software engineer working in the healthcare field - developing practice management, billing & EMR software products tailored for small independent practices.
  12. Wow. I hope this incident puts him away (in jail or in treatment) for a while. That's gotta be incredibly stressful to be living next to someone like that.
  13. So apparently they caught the MAGA-bomber? Though I'm sure the right will continue to speak of false flag conspiracies...
  14. Today, I will become a billionaire.
  15. I'm having facebook interactions with a guy who's currently a council member for the city in which I reside, who's running for a position in the state assembly in which he would be my representative. Yet, he's as bad as any troll I've run across. Refuses to engage in any actual debate, uses memes and emojis to dismiss opponents, and seems to want to do nothing other than stir the pot. Welcome to Trump's America.
  16. Exactly my thoughts as well. The best part of his interviews are when he talks about recovery with his guests. So useful and inspiring.
  17. That Collins speech was revolting. She can't have it both ways. The real lesson here is that women should always be believed when revealing past abuse, EXCEPT for when the accused is a republican SCOTUS nominee, in which case every missing detail disqualifies the entire claim. And when Roe is overturned (and it will be), the blame will lie at the feet of Collins, who is either incredibly naive or has been lying all along about protecting reproductive rights.
  18. Apparently Flake, Collins, Murkowski, and a “handful” of red state Democratic senators are making plans to vote as a bloc, so that any one of them isn’t going to be blamed for tipping the scales one way or another. Does this count as bipartisan collaboration even if it’s just an exercise in spineless CYA-ism?
  19. We're farting while playing quarters? Surely that couldn't mean anything else.
  20. “California Stars” is being used in Gavin Newsom’s campaign ads (for CA Gov). I’m sure he got Tweedy’s personal permission.
  21. Yes! I've had pretty good success with showing my kids some movies of my youth and I think that one will certainly go over well. Thanks for the reminder.
  22. Manafort has flipped. Witch hunt, indeed.
  23. I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration
  24. Wife and I started season 1 of Ozark this weekend after hearing Jason Bateman hit all the podcasts about the upcoming season 2. Starts off very strong. Anyone else watched/ing this?
