  1. I'm with those who say "Why not buy the catalog?" I haven't heard the comp yet, but I'll buy it because it has some previously unreleased rarities. My buddy Dave Biljan produced the first Golden Smog EP on Crackpot Records.
  2. Yes, Matt, there was at least one taper at the show, though I don't know when the recording will circulate. A friend of mine has it and I should have a copy before long, but I don't know what format either -- hoping for FLAC but I'll take what I can get just because my brother and his girlfriend were at the show and I'd like to give it to them.
  3. Yep, I'm guessing that was Yonder at The Wilma, TBen. (See you for the 2-night tour-closer in April, I suppose?) I didn't record 02-07-2010 @ Missoula because I was with my wife & son, but a friend of mine did. It's been a week and I still haven't heard anything from him, but as soon as I do I'll post info here and a link to wherever the recording is shared.
  4. I grabbed the new tour t-shirt: bright red shirt with a hand-drawn moosehead whose antlers spell out an oblique WILCO. Tour dates on the back, and VERY happy to have Missoula at the top of the list. My son went for the stickers and my wife went for WILCO (the tote). [chuckle...]
  5. It was clear the guys had been watching the Super Bowl AND The Who's halftime show because not only did Pat do some Townshend-esque windmills, Jeff also got into Daltrey mode by swinging his mic around in ever-increasing circles until he released it to do the Roger-catch... only to barely miss thumping Mikael with the flying mic, for which he promptly apologized. [chuckle...] Classic rock'n'roll f-ck-up moment, and I'm sure the THUNK of the mic hitting the deck will come through clearly on my buddy's recording. Speaking of which, if it weren't for my buddy Mark I'd be wondering where were
  6. Just talked with my buddy who was running his R4 -- YEP, HE TAPED! His rig was back by the soundboard and he said the recording sounds pretty darned good because the crew created a great mix. It may be a little while before his recording surfaces (he's currently rebuilding his computer) but like my archiving motto says: "All good tapes in all good time." Me, I'm just doing my little happy dance because he pulled a good recording.
  7. This is just killing me, to have Wilco right here in my own state and not be able to go to either of these shows! Ah well, at least I'll go right on playing some of the residency tapes to soothe the hurt, but thanks for the reviews and setlist(s). Almost every song I could ever have wanted to hear was included last night, my near-perfect setlist. Anyone notice if there was a taper in the house at The Emerson? I'm guessing Bob Wall (BIG guy) would've been back by the soundboard with his R4, but I wish I'd been able to bring my rig too. Hoping, hoping, hoping...
  8. I found the Residency pie charts this afternoon and LOVED 'em! Then I made the mistake of sending the link to a buddy who replied with a single word: "GEEK!" Ah well, can't please 'em all, but I kind of like that my first-ever VC post is syaing thanks to someone so THANKS, ROB!
