  1. After maybe attending a thousand concerts, their show at the Aragon in 1986 is still my all time favorite show. They were just amazing live! That said, I wouldnt care about a reunion. I've kind of lost all my depressed teen angst being in my 40's and all.

  2. I don't recall - but I am sure that if they are going to put that show out, they have taken care of that.

Well...unless Plant re-records the vocals for the feedback-laden songs, I don't know what they can really do. The minute I heard the show I thought; "so much for them ever releasing it professionally" which is a real shame. Maybe the wonders of technology will surprise me!

  3. The four-piece lineup was in 2001 after YHF, I thought. In 2002 they expanded to a five-piece when Jorgensen joined.

Things are fuzzy in this 42 year old brain but you could be right. I swear there was some AGIB born stuff played...but I know Leroy was still there so maybe not. Either way, Jeff did a nice job as the lead guitarist!

  4. I cant even picture Jeff playing them live. I dont think he ever did, did he?

My favorite Wilco show I ever saw was when they were a four-piece with just Jeff on guitar right after AGIB came out.

  5. Hello, was wondering if someone could tell me what program is necessary to play the shows in the road case. it seems that since they revamped the website, I've had difficulty playing the shows. I've contacted Wilco HQ a few times but haven't heard back. I'm sure they have more things to worry about then my tech issues.

Any help is appreciated, would love to here this civic opera house show.

Pretty sure you just need Quicktime. Or at least the web plugin of it.

  6. it goes on and on...enough already.

Well, as someone who owns much of the music I love only on the crappy mastered CD's from the 80's, I'm loving many of these new remasters. My favorites have been the REM, Tallking Heads, The Replacements, Fleetwood Mac, and Smiths reissues. In many cases, they sound like entirely new albums. Now we need Prince, Tom Waits, and Rickie Lee Jones to follow suit.

  7. Hmmm,

Perhaps my least inspiring of five Wilco + one Tweedy-solo shows. First few songs (inc. terrific version of Poor Places) leading up to and including Art of Almost were great; thought this might be really good. But then, despite Impossible Germany, Handshake Drugs, and Via Chicago, the show just never quite took off.

To be fair to the band, Tweedy's first comment was whether the crowd was more interested in the Milwaukee Brewers game that was going on at the same time. He had a point, because the not everyone on the first floor was standing and it seemed like everyone in the three balconies sat through pretty much the entire concert.

Interested if others had the same response to the show, and whether you were underwhelmed with the band or the crowd?

Standing in the first 10 rows I thought the crowd was pretty great. Very respectful and responsive. Not sure how they could have been "better". To be honest, it was the same type of croud I've noticed at Wilco shows in the past years. They seem to have gotton big enough that the crowd is a mix of die-hards, people getting taken there by a die-hard, and causual music fans who are curious what the fuss is about.

Musically I thought it was the best I have heard them play in the 10+ shows I've seen since about '97 or so. They are just a machine now and you can tell they love playing the new stuff. Plus, you cannot beat the acoustics of Overture Hall in Madison! The sound was stunning,
