  1. I looked for you at the party house as we drove by but did not see anyone outside. Maybe the rain drove you all inside?

we were down in Morrison during the downpour having din din. I think I went to bed around 5am or so. I did hear some of the soundcheck before we headed to town. It was fun watching the wilco fans drive by the house..and then the traffic jam out was nice to watch from the haus on the hill with an ale in my hand. Having not to drive after the show was AWESOME!!!!! What an amazing show! The wind storm that blew in as the show ended was so cool! Red Rocks is such a wonderful venue. We headed to the Nederland festival sat but ended up just grabbing PBR & burritos that some guy was making out of his haus & then headed up for a campfire in the forest. I think we were in our sleeping bags by 10:30!Headed back to Colorado for camping with my 4 year old the last 9 days of the month. May hit Red Rocks for a movie under the stars. This will be her 1st camping trip ever! Hope she loves the drive across Kansas!

Right as you turn into the Red Rocks venue road it's the 1st haus on the right up on the hill

  2. I have done this at many Wilco shows.

Sounds like a tremendous show. Keeping my fingers crossed for autumn in Columbia.

please please please Columbia. It's sooooo close to me. I wish they would come back to the Crossroads. I had pizza @ Grinders a few weeks ago & just stared @ the stage.

  3. My wife and I made the trip from Kansas City, MO for this one, our third Wilco concert altogether. I have to second everything that's been said here. Amazing setlist, so excited to hear "Can't Stand It" and "Shouldn't Be Ashamed," which ROCKS in this lineup. California Stars was great, although it seemed like the guys from Okervill River didn't know all the words...just stepped up to the mic to say "california stars." Nels vs. Pat on "Hoodoo Voodoo" was epic - Pat should be given a little more room to solo - who knew he was so good!?

Anyone notice during "Jesus, Etc." during the lyric 'our love is all of God's money' there was a big flash of lightning in the distance? Awesome. Jeff had great dialogue w/the crowd, the overall energy was electric. Bad-ass show.

Bummed "Box Full of Letters" and "Casino Queen" didn't make it in, but I'll take "It's Just That Simple," which John nailed.

IN ALL - WILCO MELTED FACES!

We drove from KC too. Gotta love that drive thru Kansas!

  4. Just got back home here after a wonderful weekend among the rockies...

The more I try to argue against it, the more it becomes all too clear that this was the best and most fun Wilco show that I've attended out of 20+ and thats with the 5 show residency included. Jeff and all the fellas were in such great spirits, there really must be something in the air up there to get so many legendary bands to play theyre very best at this awesome wonder of a venue. I wish I had better words to describe, the atmosphere and felling of this night would be tough to give justice to.

They had more energy then I have ever seen them have! I felt like they never wanted to leave. Nobody wanted to leave! The amount of room they had on stage was awesome. Being on a mountain side under a Colorado sky with Wilco was the best Wilco experience I could ever have! The crowd was the most laid back & cool audience I have ever had the pleasure of being with. My calves hurt from the 5000 ft beer & bathroom runs though! Next time I am wearing diapers.

Was I the only drunk Wilco fan that gave my DNA & signed up to donate bone marrow @ one of the tables? That memory just hit me today. I hope they never call me to collect!

  5. Good summary of an excellent show. I was center stage, just a few rows behind the sound board and it was truly an "epic" night. I've never seen Jeff having so much fun. They are truly in their element these days as a band with a tight sound and great chemistry on stage. It was a pure joy to watch Nels all night. He was just spectacular. Loved the new songs, particularly "One Wing," which is quickly becoming my favorite. The crowd was into it all night as mentioned earlier. I ended up standing the entire show as did everyone around me. There was plenty of "pungent odor," as Jeff said, all around me, but for the most part everyone was singing and dancing in their happy space. Well worth the trip in from Texas, and what a night under the open sky. No rain for the entire show and a great cool breeze blowing through. Couldn't have asked for much more. Woke up early this morning and made the two hour drive west to the mountains where I am currently sitting on the deck of a rented condo and watching the Eagle Rive flow by. Great start to a week's vacation, and I'll have those magical two-and-a-half hours ringing in my head all week long!

You must have been by us @ the show! We stayed @ a haus within walking distance to the venue on the mountain side. Then we headed up 9,000 ft to camp in the Roosevelt National Forest up from Nederland the next morning. Best Wilco show I have ever seen! The wind blowing, zillion foot boulders, beer vendor in the audience (fat tire in a can), everyone singing, amazing energy from the boys....yummy smells. Wasn't the wind storm right after the show ended amazing! Just rolled back into MO @ 6am monday morning. Thanks Wilco for the best show ever!

See ya back in Colorado in 2 weeks for some more camping...and much less beer!

  6. packing my roadtrip bag as I type rock.gif

Staying @ a haus in Red Rocks so look for the girl with a PBR & cowboy hat waving to the fans driving by. Fatheadfred & some other VC'ers will be there with us. Camping in Nederland sat.I heard there is a festival in Ned sat?Anyone know anything about it?

QUESTION-I bought my ticket from ESue but it is a willcall ticket. I tried to call ticketmaster & never got thru. I have her enevelope addressed to me from her state to mine & a letter from her to the venue releasing the ticket. Do I need anything else? Will I get in to see Wilco?????

  7. As a fantastical Massage therapist I have a package where I can accompany my clients on their adventures to be @ their beck & call for a massage session. Have table will tavel to exoctic locations kinda thing. B)

Now wouldn't you like a free anytime massage pass for you & your family while in Hawaii? Lounging on a beach can be exhausting & hard on your traps. Stuffing ginormous amounts of the luau feast in your mouth can cause TMJ..which I can help with. I can be the gurantee you will have the time of your life pain & stress free...

all I need you to do is pay for my hotel room, food, plane ticket, and a little spending $$$. Do for your health & wife. :)

Just PM me my flight & room info asap so I can book your spot. :D

  8. I don't get why so many people on this board, who I consider extremly knowledgable about music and have really cool tastes, spent time watching that crap fest. I'll never understand why the movies get a critic based awards circuit, but music gets a freaking popularity contest with high school behavior in the worst way. I watched in all 10 total minutes last night. What I saw will haunt me today. Some dude (Kanye I think ) rapping over a Coldplay song. Radiohead sinking in their seats when the camera panned to them, and career awards being glossed over because the footage of the artists were in black and white and the idiots in the crowd had never heard of them (along with the 16 year olds that this show was geared at). Anyway, I feel better, I just don't get it. I think if I was in a band that got nominated I would have a huge dilmena on my hands. I don't think I could go to just have fun with it. It rewards stupidity and mediocraty and I would feel stupid and mediocre.

  9. The 1st time I heard of Adele is on your thread. If it's pop I haven't a clue. Jonas Brothers??? Never heard them play. All I know is that they are allover the Disney channel. I'm old I suspose. Pop music hurts my brain.

How could anyone get tired of the Food Network?

  10. just glad she got these awards instead of Duffy (who sadly still won one)

Hilliary Duff? WTF! She still makes "music"? All I know is that the chick looks nothing like herself anymore yet claims to have never gone under the knife. What's a Duffy? Is she going thru what Diddy went thru now? Puff Daddy or P Diddy..or whatever he was called? What were all his names again?

Disney does pop out some major stars though. Just hope Miley doesn't go crazy like Lindsey did. Pop music from disney stars just doesn't do it for me.

  11. Great article :stunned

Every generation has it's thing man. Older cats can't stand young punks because they are no longer a kid who can spend hours looking cool with some group of kids looking cool. We will always poke fun & fear the end of originality & brain cells when we see a group looking like a group. Remember the 80's? That didn't destroy us now did it?

It's what kids do. I used to be a young skater chick skin head lover from the 80's....now I'm an educated married MILF with a renewed brain cells & supple skin.

I f'n hate those damn annoying hipsters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. I like to watch The Roloff Family show. I belief Mr. Roloff has a college education.

Love the Roloff clan! They have been bringing in some sweet dough since the show. People line up for hours just to get one of their pumpkins!!! They have upgraded their farm & gotten a wee bit rich from the show. Mr. R is a very intelligent dude. Mrs. R moves a little to serious for me though.
