I fear
in Just A Fan
Actually I think it was a pretty good one.....I too think AM and Being There are two of Wilco's best albums and believe SBS is right up there as well......What did he say in this review that was off base or untrue?.......I'm not into the sound collages on YHF or AGIB......But that's not to say I don't like the basic songs they add the electronic shit to......I've gotten used to them and have a wide collection of Jeff Tweedy performances of most of these songs that he plays acoustically in that BT or AM vein....I too am one of those early Uncle Tupelo fans who long for the country twang of old Wilco once in a while....But I appreciate and understand the changes they have made and believe they can be even better than in the past.....I think SBS is a bit of a throw back to what they were before YHF.....

"I see Sky Blue Sky as the Let it Be (the Beatles one, not the Replacements) of Wilco's discography, it's not a bad record but it's not exactly Sgt. Pepper or The White Album or Abbey Road or Revolver."
I think SBS is one of Wilco's best just behind "Being There" which I think is number one, their "White Album"........I'd compare it to "Rubber Soul".......And if the next one isn't as good as "Revolver" who cares.......I'll take "Magical Mystery Tour" any day......

Did you fear what the Beatles would come up with next after Revolver?......Did you fear what Wilco would do after YHF?......Who cares.......It's their music and if you don't like it don't buy it.......You can always play the Wilco albums you like over and over again if you don't like what they come up with next......I would FEAR what Justin Timberlake comes up with next

This from Thrashers Wheat site......
"Probably one of the most interesting aspects of the announcement is that all shows for this tour will be general admission floor with reserved seating in the stands. This is great news for those of us who had to be restrained from standing and moving during "No Hidden Path".
General admission tickets will be prices at $75.00 with reserved stand tickets ranging in price from $45.00 to $250.00."

This was one of the most amazing shows I've seen by anyone including Wilco at the Schubert back in Feb.......Our seats were great, section 1, right in the front of the stage about 9 rows back........The vocals were a little muffled being so close though.......The main speakers were off to either side and very high.......Took a walk during Bird's set and the vocals were so much more clearer a section back.......But whose complaining.......One of our friendly recorders was next to me and his recording will be up soon......The shed holds five thousand and there had to be at least three thousand on the lawn.......What a crowd.....The nudie suits were great......I think a third encore would be appropriate next time ........If anyone has pictures please post them......Beautiful venue and a nice cool evening.......The band seemed to be really into it as well.......A lot of smiles going around onstage........Jeff mentioned graffiti in the men's room.....It said "Music iz gay"......He cracked a couple of jokes about it but didn't do much talking the rest of the night......Just a few comments here and there......I didn't really care for Spiders before tonight.....What a rocking number......I wanted to hear Hummingbird and Muzzle of Bees and got both of them which was a treat......

I agree they are much tighter as a live band musically compared to their live two disc album and I really like SBS.......But "One Wing" is really not that remarkable.......It sounds like just what Jeff called it the other day...."a work in progress".......It is a pretty boring song with a forced instrumental at the end.......Kind of contrived IMO......Kind of a dangerous comment to make around here with my first post.......
