  1. Holy shit balls!!! This is a remarkable discovery.

I have to admit, when I read the first post that mentioned it I thought someone was taking the piss. Wow. I've never heard Jeff Tweedy sing a duet with a girl.

Didn't he sing with Jay Bennett? :D

  2. That's a nice set list, especially I See Monsters as an opener. Was there only one set, or did they break it up? When I saw them back in September, Ryan said they'd skip the set break if the crowd could be quiet for an entire minute. I think we made it about a second and a half before somebody yelled something. He definitely gets more hecklers than the average performer, but it's good to hear he didn't let them get to him as he sometimes does.

One set with joke telling mid-way through by the pedal steel player while Adams laid on his back on stage.......The joke wasn't funny......

  3. trip hop. what the hell. i must be getting old. the summerteeth guy is annoying because of the way he says 'teeth'. but equally annoying is the woman who makes the comment about 'hole'. if i ever get the chance to go backstage (in my dreams) i have no idea what i would say or ask. i would probably just stand in the corner too nervous to do anything except look at jeff. i would want to give him a hug and say thank you.

Being one who has gone backstage once, I didn't know what to say either, I think I said something like.....You guys were great and I saw you in New Haven.......Can I get a picture? Thanks. Happy Birthday Spencer.........Really dumb shit that they hear all the time I'm sure. But it was cool none the less........I think I shook Jeff's hand as he walked by me later......

  4. Pretty good show.....Very vocal crowd with people yelling all kinds of weird shit out......Adams joked with crowd a bit about the nonsense being screamed at him.......By the way no encore.....What the hell is with that?

  5. The BEST contemporary band in America is Wilco.......Only we know it........If they were self promoters and driven to be in the spotlight they would be the American Beatles today like CSNY were the American Beatles back in the late 60's early 70's.......Enjoy the fact they are under the radar.......They are more accessible to us all ticket wise......I think they will be considered even greater as time goes on.......How many bands out there let you approach them to talk and take pictures without being beaten back by security thugs......Let's keep the secret a little longer.......They are just starting to hit their stride as a unit......The change in radio over the years is the main reason others don't hear of them......Once they do, through people like us, they usually get hooked.....Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers came pretty close to this status with me back in the 90's......But he's kind of stale now.....Wilco is still pretty innovative and fresh......A song like Impossible Germany would have killed in the 70's......

  6. I remember when the White Album (vinyl) came out when I was a kid and my parents had bought it for me for Christmas........I knew it was on the shelf in their bedroom closet unwrapped so I would sneak it out to give it a listen whenever they went out......Not too many options back in those days to hear something before you actually had it in your possession......Fond memories indeed hearing those songs for the first time.....I guess I'm dating myself here.......

  7. Basically a guy I work with said he had never heard Wilco and wanted to know which album to buy. I told him that I would make a mix on my ipod to listen to at work, putting 1 or 2 songs for each album. But I want to make sure he gets a feel for each album so he doesnt buy one and find it isnt anything like the other stuff he has heard.

I've been doing that for about a year now........Too hard to pick one or two from each album.......I usually pick some live versions from the Kicking Television CD for songs that I can't stand on AGIB and YHF.......The live versions of some of those songs are less noisy if you now what I mean.......
