I don't know why they're formatted so strangely, but copy from "http" to "related" and it should work.

That is quite a great looking setlist.

Jay certainly contributed a lot to the band during his time, but "real Wilco" is never happening again? I think you're way off. Jeff definitely didn't stop writing great songs when Jay left.

The situations are obviously different. Now is clearly not a time to pick on the guy's faults. Yea, I figured, and I didn't expect the exact venue. I just was curious where it might be, but Chicago seems like an obvious place.

Where is this venue? Not the specific name of the venue, but where is it?

Vibes for Mike Tyson's daughter
Shakespeare In The Alley replied to tugmoose's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Exactly. This is a very sad story, and I couldn't even think about any of the Tyson jokes that have made the rounds while reading this. Prayers to Mike and his family. I hope she recovers. -
Not really anything we didn't already know, but I saw this on mtv.com: http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1612131/20090526/wilco_1.jhtml

Am I the only one that sometimes wishes Wilco shows had a stripped down song or two, of maybe just Jeff acoustic and a piano, or something like that? I guess Jeff does his solo shows, so there really isn't a need, but there are a few Wilco songs I'd like to see live that are already very sparse instrumentally, and would sound amazing "solo."

Thanks. I found this video of Kingpin, as well as video of I Got You and Red Eyed from the same show. Anyone know what show these videos come from? Kingpin Red-Eyed I Got You Sorry to post so many videos, but they're all pretty great performances with Jay, and I figured some of you would appreciate them, especially now.

Still can't believe this happened. Rest in piece, Jay Walter Bennett. We miss you.

Vibes for Mike Tyson's daughter

Stories like this fascinate me: Mike Tyson is an easy guy to make fun of. Plain and simple. But reading this, and seeing the picture they used, I feel bad for him. It just interests me how easily someone's flaws can be brushed aside. -
That's what I've been figuring. Considering its a brief album, I expect they'll play a good majority of it each night once its officially out. When I saw Radiohead on their tour for In Rainbows, they played the whole thing, plus two of the bonus tracks. My fingers are crossed for this to be the case when I see Wilco in July.

Oh, definitely. Like I said, Jeff always comes across as humble and sincere when he speaks, so reading what he said at the concert is touching. I was almost expecting them to play My Darling, but it seems to be a rare song, and maybe it's too much "Jay's song" for Jeff to feel comfortable playing it now. And the lack of WTA songs is a bit strange. Maybe as the tour continues, and the release date comes and goes.

Yes. But I don't know what they could really do if they were here. Maybe Jeff knew Jay's family, or something. I don't know.

First off, that's an amazing setlist. Second, Jeff seems to have taken Jay's passing pretty hard. I'd imagine Glenn and John have to have been hit hard by this whole thing too. I'm sure Pat, Nels and Mikael are saddened, and have such respect for Jay's work, but Jeff Glenn and John actually worked with Jay through good and bad, so this ahs to be difficult for them to handle, even with recent times. Stuff like this reminds me why I respect Jeff so much. Considering everything I've heard from him has never sounded anything but humble and from the heart, his paying tribute to Jay despite t

No offense at all to Jay, but Jeff and the band are a little occupied right now with their tour and such. It's clearly on their (or at least Jeff's) mind, and Jay should be mourned, but expecting a long appreciation to be posted on Wilcoworld already is a bit much.

Done and done. Top right corner. White text.

Go to the homepage, and there's a link in the top right corner.

I wasn't sure how much jeff would have to say, but that was nice. This has to be a horrible situation for the Wilco camp. I'm glad to see that Jeff posted something on Wilcoworld, regardless of recent events.

I always wondered why people got so sad about deaths of musicians, but this is the first time an artist I love has died while I was aware of them and their music. I understand why people take these things to heart. Jay's music is important to me, and I honestly feel a sense of loss. Rest in peace, Jay.

Listening to Whatever Happened I Apologize right now. That's the only Jay solo album I have. Which should I check out next?

All site criticism aside, I saw that this was posted: http://pitchfork.com/news/35417-rip-jay-bennett/

I was never 100% clear on this, but did Jay write the lyrics to "My Darling?" If so, then those lyrics take a whole new meaning.

So, I guess the news has reached the band. I'm not normally one of those people who takes musicians' deaths to heart, but this is awful. RIP.
