Maybe people who don't have kids are more squeamish about it. I dunno.
Yeah, except that the woman in the article who said she shredded the magazine cover had breastfed her own kids. So I dunno about that.

It's come up a couple of times, but the threads have all gone to the way-back archives now: Pickin' on Wilco.

There will be excerpts of the show on Glo No I think, but what do I know. It was fun and it appeared that we got good footage.
Sounds very cool, Lou. Looking forward to seeing this.

There is a beehive tucked up under the siding behind my house. I have so far been unsucessful in destoying them using the traditional McGowan family method of spraying some Raid in the general direction of my house and running away screaming like a wee girl.
A couple of my cousins once took care of a beehive by vacuuming all the bees. Of course, then they had a bag full of angry bees on their hands...

Haha, I haven't looked at the numbers yet, which, by the way, I thank you for taking the time to get, but I just noticed that the site that came from was the Archdiosese of St. Paul and Minnesota. Why are they teaching Social Justice and 101 Things you need to know about taxes?
Lots of religious groups are involved in and take postitions on social justice issues, including truly progressive systems of taxation and increasing the minimum wage.

If I hadn't started my Marah listening career with that Float Away album, maybe I'd feel the same way. As it stands, I've been too scared to give them a second chance.
They're fan-fuckin'-tastic live, plus, now there's this.

There's also this, which sounds iffy.
Hmm, very iffy. Acting that out-there with a .12? That's crazy talk, not just kind-of-drunk talk.
Drunken driving is a stupid thing to do, but many fine people have caught a DWI case. Now that the limit's 0.08, it ain't that hard.I have little sympathy for drunk drivers anyway, but pretty much none at all for a guy who can probably afford to take a cab to Australia, if he had to.

Even though I had nothing to offer pneyu took me under her wing and sent me a starter package of stuff so I'd have something to trade, thus restoring my faith in rock 'n roll, the internet, and the kindness of mankind.
kidsmoke and pneyu did the same thing for some wayward San Franciscans at just about the same time, and our lives will never be the same.
There used to be an adopt-a-newbie program for new folks looking to start out trading, and it was a great way for people to become part of the VC community. As much as I love the ease of BTs, I think something's been lost with the lessening of the need for trading by mail (I only started trading/collecting shows when I arrived at VC, so I only caught the tail end of that; I'm not trying to claim any old-school trader status here).

I like when gogo posts in here. Although it sometimes makes me self-conscious about being such an idiot.
Now I'm all self-conscious and stuff.

You are far too easily impressed, borderline delusional.
Story of my life.

This is entirely off-topic, but Paul, your sig line is cracking me up!

It's rare for me to literally laugh out loud at my desk, and this may be attributable to lack of sleep today, but yeah, you got me with that one.

Although I really want a shot of that little tilt back of the head and smile he does at the end of the opening credits.
I love you more every day.
Sometimes I feel I would like to dress up my avatar........What programs are out there to spice things up a bit?Oceanman, don't change a thing! Your avatar is perfect just the way it is.

That New York lineup looks amazing. If Andy Richter were somehow a part of that one too, I'd probably be buying a plane ticket right now.
Well, also, if there were any tickets left.
Come to SF!!!

How's tricks?
I never sent you those pictures, did I? This seems to be a recurring theme for me...

Made up spit my tea over my monitor... thanks Andrew
Yeah, I got a couple of LOLs out of this:
10, NODDING AT COPPERS - A moments eye contact is all it takes for you to share the unspoken bond. "We've not seen eye to eye in the past", it says, "but someone's got to keep the little scrotes in line".14, NOT WATCHING YOUR WEIGHT - fat is a feminist issue, apparently. Brilliant. Pass the pork scratchings.
15, CARVING THE ROAST - and saying "are you a leg or breast man" to the blokes and "do you want stuffing" to the women. Congratulations, you are now your dad.
23, KNOWING WHICH SCREWDRIVER IS WHICH - "a Phillips? For that? Are you mad, bint?"

I never realized the seriousness of this book. Think Harper Lee drew a little inspiration from Betty Smith?
I always thought of it as a children's book, but I re-read it last year, and yeah... damn.
-
Amazing! This is the third time I've read it, and it just gets more interesting every time.
Oh, I've been meaning to read that one for years, but still haven't picked it up! I really wish that I hadn't just this second come back from the book store.

Maybe. Actually, a before/after of this bathroom would have been great before they ripped out the plumbing...pink toilet, pink sink, hot pink carpet and yellow wallpaper w/ pink flowers. That freaking cologne in the medicine cabinet was the only thing stopping that bathroom from growing tits and watching Oprah.
For as long as I've known her, my grandmother has had a thing for hot pink (as do I ), and when we were kids, her upstairs bathroom was done in hot pink and black. Very cool, very whorehouse.
A few years ago, we went to visit a cousin who now lives in Belfast. When we got there, his girlfriend said, "you won't believe how he decorated the bathroom..." It was a perfect Grandma-style black and hot pink! Totally fabulous.

One of my favorite local bumper stickers:
I got a laugh out of this one recently:

Hee! That Wilco/M's show was the same weekend as my 15th reunion (nice timing, huh?), so my road-trip companions for the next few shows ended up getting gifts of Vassar Class of 1994 merchandise (I was Class of '89, but those '94ers were just plain sloppy about leaving their stuff lying around for the taking ).
