  1. Hating you all right now. Stupid time zones mean I'm at work, and even though I overrode the website block on wilco world, I'm not quite game enough to download the newest quicktime player, which is why I'm guessing I can't get feed. I just read whats playing on here because I'm a sucker for punishment.

  2. Not everyone takes shitty shots. Some of us have nice cameras and take nice photos, and nice people enjoy looking through them.

Perhaps there's some sort of a compromise, if the holders of the magical photo-pass are allowed to take photos during the first 3 songs, why not let everyone, then enforce the rule after that?

  3. I took the high route and got a friend with a connection in Atlanta to get a photo pass for me, so now I can shoot the 1st three songs at least. :w00t

I agree it does seem harsh. My friend Jenny said that this is a sign that Wilco is a "big time" band now. Alas, they've been a "big time" band for me since the 1st time I heard A.M.

    AWESOME! :thumbup

  4. I don't care for this new policy at all! I love looking through peoples photos in the After the show section, giving me a visual to go with the words. I'm boderline sulking. No, bugger it, I AM SULKING! Just seems a bit heavy handed. If it was annoying having peoples phones and cameras in the air, its going to be more annoying having bouncers try and stop everyone. Its all good and well to have the policy on your website, and make an announcment at the start of the show, but reality says everyone will try it on anyway. I would take someones iphone in the air over a boucner shoving his way through the crown to argue with people.

  5. From the Frenz Forum - a Finn fansite..... (nice alliteration there)....

"the Wilco boys played a song in the studio that has never been heard and that is in the movie"

    Again from the Frenz Forum:

I asked him (neil) why "Cool Down" by Wilco was excluded from the album (it was in the movie). He responded that you'd have to buy the DVD to get it or something to that effect. At the venue now. Ready for the shoooooow.

  6. I assume this is the documentary that showed on NZ TV last summer. What a cool event! I wish I were in Santa Barbara.

I think the original documentary was 45 minutes long, whereas this is 1.5 hours, so I think it includes a lot more footage. Still hoping for a 7WC2 concert when Wilco are in Australia in May.

  7. I spend half my day at work writing to my friends about what was on TV last night, then a bit of time on VC, bastards removed facebook access so I can't abuse that at work anymore. Anyway, my point being, even if I'm crap at my job, being a cog in a big company means no one is going to notice. I'm pretty sure if Wilco got up one night and said "can't be arsed, going to do about 12 songs tonight", people would notice.

Also I don't have any pressure on me to keep being creative. It must be horrible to know that many other non band people are relying on you to be succesful so they have a job. Thats not even factoring in the fact they have to be away from their family most of the year.

Back onto the original topic, I did an environmental degree intending to work for the EPA or something, now I work for a petrochemical company. I'm in no position to be calling others sell outs.

  8. No entirely sure on my dates here, just guessing...

7 Worlds Collids Auckland NZ 5/1/09 (Finn fan. Wilco?? Who the fuck are Wilco??) :unsure

7 Worlds Collids Auckland NZ 6/1/09 (Oh, I liked them last night...) :thumbup

7 Worlds Collids Auckland NZ 7/1/09 (Must have every CD they have ever made....) :)

7 Worlds Collide London UK 11/8/09 (with Glenn and John) :yes

Oya Festival Olso Norway 13/8/09 :D

Way Out West Festival Gothenberg Sweden 14/8/09 :dancing

Huvila Festival Helsinki Finland 17/8/09 :worship

So saw Wilco (or parts of) in 5 different countries last year, yet none were my own! 2010 though, they come to me. I like home delivery Wilco. :wub

  9. Just looking at the dates.... are they insane?? :blink

By my count thats 17 shows in 25 days, then they get a two and a bit weeks off, to turn around and do 16 shows in 21 days. Then they have 11 days before they have to be in Japan. When are they going to accept they've made it and get lazy? Don't get me wrong, I love Wilco concert, hell I'm going to all 5 when they come to Oz, but man they must get sick of it. After all these years of relentless touring, how are they still sane/married??

  10. Neil Finn, please pick up the white courtesy phone. Mr. Neil Finn to the white courtesy phone. Your jam session is here.

Oh man... for that reason alone I'm tempted. But still holding out hope for a 7WCII Aussie show around then. I just wish they would announce it before the Auckland tickets went on sale to remove temptation. Where would we be without wishful thinking?

  11. haha good work, I was wondering if there were any front row ones left and now I know why there weren't any! After refreshing constantly for about 20 mins the best I could get was third row unfortunately, but it's smack bang in the middle though which is good. I've never been to Sydney so it's going to be a great trip :)

Smack bang in the middle is good :thumbup . Third row is good too, I mean look how big the theatre is! We're actually on the side aisle, probably over in front of Pat. You'll have to come over and say hi. I'll be the one arguing with security over my camera...

  12. WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo got all of our tickets and scored front row tickets for the State Theatre

:dancing :dancing :dancing :dancing :dancing :dancing :dancing :dancing

It was one the most stressfree ticket buying I've done :thumbup

Loving your work Pez :worship . Thank god your internet was faster than mine, I'd still be waiting for the page to load. Got Melbourne too, now just waiting on Brisvegas to go on sale.

    Hurry up May...

  13. Thanks for the offer:) I'd only followed the lovepolice link where they had that rule in bold caps, but ticketek looks to be ok. Sydney is more expensve than i expected, the other shows about what I thought they would be, funny that Melbourne tx are a whole 30c cheaper than Brisbane!

So i have a couple of hours to decide and get good tx

The Sydney tickets are the Premium ones I assume, that includes the special "free" show the next night at the factory. Odd that they don't have two prices though, one for premium and one for normal.

  14. I've been definitely expecting a return to NZ for 2010,

I still think it will be announced soon too (please please please).

Anyway I'd consider flying to catch a show or two in Australia as well but apparently you have to reside there to buy tx!!! is that normal?

I've never heard of that. In the join up screen for ticketek and ticketmaster they ask for your country and give you many to choose from, so I don't see why there would be a problem. When I was buying tickets for shows in NZ I had to use a seperate email address, as each time I logged in it took me to the Australian site. So now I have a kiwi login and an aussie one. If you get stuck send me a message, you can always "live" at my house.

  15. I'm going to have my 6th grade english classes submit some for this. Should be interesting since they've never heard of Wilco. I'll play some songs and for them and have them write what comes to mind. It's a combo teachable moment/public service. I'll try to post some of it here later.

What if their entry wins the guitar? Would you tell them or keep the guitar yourself as commission for introducing them to Wilco music?

  16. Great they are coming back to Australia - but pissed off they aren't bothering to play any New Zealand dates this time around. Was really looking foward to seeing them in Auckland and Wellington again. Guess they feel that playing those 7 Worlds Collide shows in Auckland earlier this year filled their NZ qouta for the time being. :hmm

What?? No NZ dates? Surely if your down this far you might as well keep on going. You guys must have really offended them or something last Jan....

  17. Damn you Wisey :P Sensing a mega roadtrip is being planned for April :dancing

Roadtrip?? Are you being literal? I was thinking mega plane trip.... I mean I will have the new Volvo by then, but its not really rock n roll...

Any word on NZ dates? Surely Neil Finn would have to join them for the Auckland shows, that alone could make it worth the trip over the ditch. Such a fine line between fan and stalking. Still holding out hope for an Aussie 7 worlds show too.
