  1. Okay, here are pics. No where near as good as the Göteborg ones unfortunately, I peaked too early. Am going to leave Wilco alone now before they start to hate me (too late??). So it shall fall to some other person to report on the upcoming European shows. Helsinki
  2. Wow. What a great show. Just gotten back and am now raiding lollys in business centre of hotel to replace kilojoules I burned going off to Kidsmoke. The show was in a largeish tent in a park, lovely place. Was nice to have toilets with water after the horrors of the previous festival toilets. Met some lovely people including probably the only other VCer in Helsinki (we were both front and centre), as well as Wilco (the man). Yes, there was a ducth man there who didn't have a ticket to the sold out show, but given his name (he showed them his passport) they managed to find one for him. Suppor
  3. They really didn't play it. Ran into Glenn at the airport and he said it had been ages since they had hadn't included it. Love the song but was happy to get spiders instead, by changing the set list between festivals I got a wider variety of songs so it worked for me.
  4. Meant to also add the first two songs were taped for a show. Apparantly some american channel (the camera guy did say which one but I can't recall) is doing a show involving food and music... delightfuly vague I know but its the best I can do. He said maybe on air in Nov.
  5. I asked John and Glenn when they were trapped behind me in a que and they seemed to think April May for Oz. Thats soooo far away!
  6. Thanks! Didn't catch Bon Ivers set, though I'm not even sure who I did see in the end! Just pottered about catching different bands. Several were the same from the Oya festival the day before, Glasvegas and Arctic Monkeys did the same back to back thing as Wilco.
  7. Just got back from the Way Out West festival. Göteborg is a uni town, so full of young beautiful trendy people. And every one of them was at this festival. Spent an hour wandering around a park the size of a small city playing follow the noise to find the festival. I was expecting something like Oya in Oslo yesterday, but it was much much bigger. Type of place where there are more bar stalls than toilets. So if you buy a drink, drink it while your standing in the toilet que and maybe, just maybe by the time you need to pee you might be at the front of the que. Set list was different from ye
  8. Just got back from the festival. I had sooo much fun. This is the first time I've seen the full Wilco line up, had only seen the mixed bag for 7 worlds before. Unfortunately security sussed onto my camera so I have no photos, will be more sneaky next time. The crowd was well up for a clap along, though they only knew one beat and it wasn't always the right one. Full points for trying though. Set list Wilco (the song) I am trying to break your heart Shot in the arm Bull black nova You are my face One wing Handshake drugs At least thats what you said Impossible Germany California stars Jesus e
  9. It was Neil on the lead of You never know. I was all ready to diss him doing it, but it was actually pretty good. The music is strong enough that you didn't really notice who was singing.
  10. What a great show. Totally worth breaking up my trip for. After queing in the afternoon sun for ages talking the ear off the poor people that were stuck near me, it all turned out to be pointless as if you had to collect a ticket it took FOREVER. I would like to say Live Nation employees, specifically the stupid cow in the box office, YOU SUCK. Was nearly worthy of missing the concert just to jump in there and bitch slap her. Everyone with a ticket streaming past while she text messaged. Then accused ME of being rude. Pot kettle black bitch. Anyway, rest of night was great. Doors didn't op
  11. How could they not have Pat? During the concert he played on more songs than Neil! I thought it was Pat Sansone and friends by the end. No mention of Jonny Marr either.
  12. Together they will be premiering tracks from the forthcoming album The Sun Came Out. Tickets go on sale Monday 3rd August at 9am and cost £25. Get them from Live Nation online, or by calling 0844 576
  13. Oh that sounds so familiar! I was in the same position. They are sold out, but managed to get one that had been returned. If I were you I would email Lippu every day asking if any had become available. Like restraining order worthy nagging. I was sooo happy when they found one, had my flights and accomodation booked and everything, just not the ticket to the show (I'm from Australia). Hope to see you there, good luck!
  14. Finally my sister and her kids leave and I can get on for exactly two minutes of spiders. Life can be cruel. I still hold out hope though...
  15. May have to stick on a blonde wig and pretend "I'm Inga from Sveden". Actually maybe a different wig at each show would stop the restraining order that may occur. Why did Jeff tell you off for going to Sydney? Its only a thousand kms....
  16. When your seeing Wilco in Oslo, Gothenberg, and Helsinki. But you live in Melbourne. Yeah, thats my August.
  17. Hazel Black was one of my favorites too. Also loved Phil Selways Ties that bind us and Reptime, but due to mis-hearing I thought it was Reptile. Reptile didn't make much sense, but I don't know what RepTime is so I can't say its better. So many songs to choose from that didn't get an airing at the concerts. I thought they might have changed more of them night to night. Don McGlashen nearly put me in a coma.
  18. Just got sent this update from oxfam: Latest news! The one hour world premiere of the 7 Worlds Collide documentary will be showing on TV1 - Monday May 24 at 10.30pm. Don't miss this unique opportunity to see the artists in action behind the scenes. Oxfam Stupid NZ TV hogging all the good stuff... never thought I would say that.
  19. I'm new to the forum and relativley new to wilco. Only became a fan when I went to the 7 Worlds concerts in Jan. Since I don't do anything by halves, have decided to go see a couple of their shows in Europe. I'm looking at tickets for the Oslo and Gothenberg shows, but am having trouble understanding them as my swedish and norwegian is non-existant, and they only translate the main page. Can you get a day pass for the Way out West festival? www.eventim.se only has two day passes. The Oya festival (officialy THE most unhelpful webiste ever) seems to have the different dates for sale, but
