It's funny; when I first heard of AmericanaramA, I thought it would be a home run in terms of attendance. I thought, what Wilco or MMJ fan doesn't love Dylan? And what Dylan fan wouldn't be impressed by Wilco or MMJ? But reading this board and the Dylan board, I'm disappointed to see that there isn't as much crossover among the different fan bases as I had hoped.
But even the weird mix within the audience hasn't kept the bands from enjoying themselves, obviously.
On the MMJ board, a lot of folks are really impressed with Wilco. A lot of them walk away saying that even though MMJ was great, Wilco stole the night for a lot of the shows.

Good Set! I was just listening to Late Greats today and thinking how badass it is. Glad to see it pop up again!

So glad to see a tape of this show appear! Thank you to the taper for catching this little bit of magic for the rest of us to hear.

So... maybe in the fall Wilco can do a whole seperate tour with Bobby Weir, just for us folks who missed these four unique happenings of musical wizardry... Maybe?
-
All I can say is Whoa! Dark Star with Weir? That must have been fun.
-
This video of MMJ and Weir doing Dear Prudence is pretty badass too. Great version of a great tune.

Here's Dead Flowers...

Found this today. Pretty groovy version of Friend Of The Devil going on here...

Not sure if right place to post but here is some shaky video of Wilco and Bob Weir singing Ripple from Palm beach show. I shot it with my GoPro, handheld so it's not the best... but security was nuts.
Awesome video. I was totally coming to this thread to post it after I had just watched it. Thanks!

Here's hoping At My Window stays around for awhile. I'd love to see them play that tune.

I always go with YHF. Definitely the best for this circumstance for me.

Wow. That makes Solid Sound look lame... They had me at "tequila tastings".
Certainly not as cost friendly as Solid Sound.
-
That is awesome.

Saw them open for MMJ at The Wiltern back in September and that was my first experience with them. They can definitely jam, but when I saw them everything just sounded really loud and distorted - not much dynamic happening during that set, just a lot of loud loud loud!
They morphed on of their last songs of their set into Hey Jude. That's definitely a way to get people into your set.

This is a nice interview with Ray:
Awesome! Thanks for posting.

What a sad day.

Tonight! Jim James at The Fonda/Music Box Theatre in LA.

Pulled two pit/GA tickets for Irvine right at 10 AM but lost them due to some error ocurring when I clicked the button to purchase.
Searched and searched for about a half hour until I pulled Lower Level Orchestra Row K and decided to go for it. Actually glad that I ended up with seats in the end since it will be such a long evening. I can say with certainty that I won't be using my seat during MMJ or Wilco's set.
Excited to see Dylan for the first time!

Lots of helpful people on this thread, but not at LameNation (great nickname, by the way, thanks!).
Lots of helpful people on this board indeed.
You're welcome for the name - it was a gift from the great subconcious in a moment of mental fury.
EDIT - Thanks for keeping me on my toes Jules.

As I mentioned in one of my prior posts, they couldn't do the exchange for me either, but he was more than willing to refund mine and waited while I was on the phone with him to make sure I could buy the seats I wanted before he cancelled the first ones.
If I were you I would just try calling back and getting someone different that knows what he's talking about.
Thanks for everyone's help! I had to bitch for awhile, but the guy I was talking with when I called again finally acknowledged the refund policy and cancelled our initial order. Now we can start again with the regular onsale and try when the better seats go onsale.

Is your venue a participating venue?
Call again, you will likely get a differnet person and one that is more willing to help
Thanks for the link. I'm definitely going to mention this policy when I call again. There is nothing in that language that says presales are different from regular sales.

Just called Livenation and they were not helpful at all. They said that I'm stuck with the tickets we got because you can't exchange presale tickets for regular onsale tickets because they are allotted differently or some excuse I didn't enjoy very much.
I asked the guy why I spent an hour and half searching only to come up with crappy seats (in the back) and he said it's because the best seats aren't included in the presale.
I asked him what the purpose of participating in the presale was and he said it's basically just an extra opportunity to make sure you get tickets.
He said there was no exchange or refund of any kind I could get with my presale tickets.
I'm really glad I get to go see 2 of my favorite bands play with Dylan, but I certainly wish I would have realized what a scam this Lamenation presale was going to turn out to be.
Definitely looking forward to seeing this show but also looking forward to Wilco and MMJ playing more GA shows at smaller venues in the future.
