And is everyone forgetting the whole dog fighting thing?
seems like many have. To be fair, he paid his debt to society and he apologized. I think he deserves a second chance.
He's pretty crappy now anyways. He might be an improvement on Sage, but I don't think he realizes he's not good anymore, and is going to keep trying to be good despite all evidence to the contrary.
I think Favre has much more left than most assume. Time will tell. Though, Im blinded by.... anxiety and expectation.

I'm a fan of the Vikings and I'm wildly excited. This could be a fun year. Or a disaster. Bottom line to me is the Vikes are a much better team with Favre.

if the Twins game is a night game, you can still easily hit up both, it starts at 5
Thatd be a big day! I wish I could but I was unawares that APHC was at 445; Johnny home game at 1pm... that won't work out. Oh well, its still wildly cool, and I'll be sure to get the podcast.

THAT is insane! The night Wilco played Cincy in June, Prairie Home Companion was also playing just down the street. Wilco was the easy decision for me, but I was DYING to see Prairie and very disappointed I missed it. About a month ago, I made a plan with my Dad to catch a small college football game in central Minnesota on October 3rd. We were considering a Twins game that night. We might have to change that.
I think Im in the twilight zone.

would have been pleasantly surprised to hear this unexpectedly!
I bet this is a HUGE Wilco (obviously) and N.P.R. (more obviously) crowd here at Via Chicago

Friends of mine, both big Wilco fans, used California Stars for the song the bride, you know... walked down the aisle to (is there a term for that?)

Im putting a Wilco mix together for a friend of mine who has never gotten into them and never heard more than a song or two. Im kind of a fresh fish myself, so I need your help. I need to get this guy hooked!
Im sending him Ghost is Born in entirety, cause thats closest to his taste of the Wilco canon, I believe, so no songs off Ghost. Every other album, including Mermaid (I suppose? I haven't gotten into that yet), can be included. Any suggestions welcome.
Thanks!

Maybe you'll meet the band in a coffee shop. Or see them at dinner. Or pass them on the street. As stories go, wouldn't that be cooler than just another show you saw?
Keep your head up (and on a swivel).

Cool to hear the perspective of a "new" fan. Welcome to the board.
Thanks! I like being here!
I listened again today and it grew on me more. I would hence erase the negative thoughts from my initial post in here. I'll continue to listen to it often as my appreciation for it grows, though I'll need to dial it down more than I have with recent albums I've loved (Microcastle and Veckatimest) so as not to burn out on it.
Wilco will love you, baby.

I got into Wilco over the last year. I started with Yankee, then Ghost, then Sky, now slowly embracing Being There and I've listened to parts of Summerteeth a few times. At this point, I like no band more than I like Wilco. This is my first 'new album' as a 'current' fan, as it were. I bought it today without having heard any of it before, save for the Cincinnati show a few weeks back (and I certainly didn't retain any impressions of the new songs from that night). Im a little disappointed in this album so far, but that seems to always happen to me with new albums from bands I love. Overall, after 2 listens, I think I'll really enjoy the album, save for maybe 1 or 2 songs. A few songs, I love: You Never Know, Wilco (the song) (oddly, if I may say so), that I will, I will, I will song...... (I've been drinking wine all night, can't recall the song name and don't care to get up to check (or take the 3 seconds to google search, though, apparently, thats not a time issue thing since Im writing this long-winded, inane explanation)).
In the end, for me, this band is F'n great; a treasure.

if the pics on the road page are from tonight, stirrat is wearing a new, unpressed shirt. i love it!

it is pretty impressive that the soundman can just totally flick the sound off and on every 20 seconds or so. i hope they incorporate that kind of production into the next album.
Man, I dont mean to bitch but I thought this was video. No big deal, I would listen anyway, but whats with the little audio times-out every 10 seconds?? Just my computer? (I wouldnt be surprised.)
edit: backread. I got it, many of us experiencing little times of out.
Im still listening!

This was my first show and this is my first post! Feels good in here. New car smell and all that, at least to me...
I saw a few posts back something about dbtree(?) having the show? I don't know anything about downloading shows and all that, I've only done BnPs. Anyone wanna BnP with me for this one? Otherwise, any advice on how to attain it online would be helpful, too. I'd assume it's not too difficult, and Im not really a computer novice (not completely, at least), just never downloaded shows online. Thanks for any help!

Thats the conventional thinking because recent history indicates it will be the outcome but I don't buy it. I think he'll play a different style and be a different QB. I guess we'll see.
