  1. The Neil Jam show in San Jose was great, Bad Religion opened and they were also really good. I have to say I was a bit dissapointed in the fans. There were a huge contingent of us that were stoked that the show did not get cancelled and we could watch Neil and Pearl Jam. There was also a huge amount of people that were pissed and booing Neil. I couldn't believe it but they were mostly young fans who were there to Mosh and drink.

I understand being disspointed but how do you possibly Boo a living legend who is filling in at the last moment? Like it's his fault Eddie was sick? Take your dumb ass and go home.

I have this bootleg, "Hey Eddie Listen To This", great to hear somebody reference it. Not a musician myself but it always amazed me how pj kept up with Neil's stuff and vice versa. You can hear people hecklin when Neil says "Eddie's pretty sick, lets try and wake him up". Also the show you referenced with sonic reducer and fuckin up sounds like the vs. the world boot with masters of war and porch unplugged. fond memories

  2. I don't really agree with the concept of 'guilty pleasures', but I have recently become enamored of several songs that aren't 'cool'. Therefore; I create my own thread to take away the stench of guilt and freely admit that I am often not cool.

It don't Matter to Me; Down on my Knees, Mother Freedom --- Bread. These guys catch a lot of flack for being white bread, soft rocke kings...but Jimmy Griffith really gave the band some punch. There ain't nothing wrong with this stuff.

Dancing Queen --- Abba. Come on...admit it. You dig this song. Robbie Fulks does a non-ironic cover of this and it really shows the beauty of this song.

Beach Baby --- First Class. At times, this song evokes an aggressively overwhelming sense of nostalgia that almost brings me to tears. Seriously. Youth is SO fleeting.

How bout Pet Shop Boys, now thats guilty

  3. I love it, some people expect bands to survive for twenty years but get pissed when they evolve to do it. This is where Wilco is at right now. Jeff might have put it best at the Cincinnati show this year after a rather chilly reception to Sonny Feeling, he said(paraphrased) "in two years you'll be beggin for us to play that one"
