  1. I'm going to be seeing YLT live for the first time this coming Hanukkah at Maxwells, and i want to get more familiar with their material, which albums should i be listening to? I've been getting into them more and more recently, but the only 3 albums i have are I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One, I Am Not Afraid of You and I Will Beat Your Ass, and The Sounds of the Sounds of Science. Any help would be greatly appreciated

  2. I agree, they will be back to longer set lists in the states. Hoping for "Evening with" types shows in Chicago especially. Nick Lowe only supports through the Civic Opera show.

Comments that they made in Boston make it seem as though won't ever do the "evening with" length shows again (ie: 37-40 songs per night), but im sure they'll be playing 25-30 at their chicago shows in december

  3. This is pretty incredible. A little something for everyone (tech geeks, photographers, filmmakers, and Wilco fans)! Also, makes me really want to see a show at the Ryman at least once in my life. What a cool-looking venue.

Flew from NYC to see Wilco at the ryman, didn't regret it, the venue was beyond outstanding, as is this video

  4. Ya, i think Tweedy made a comment at the Wang last month about how they played almost 40 songs last time they were in boston, then said something along the lines of "Never again". I remember seeing both of the Evening With shows at the Wellmont (which had 37 and 38 songs each night), and i was exhausted just watching, can't even imagine the toll that tour took on each of the guys.

That being said, was really surprised about a few of the songs that were completely left off this tour. No Spiders is a real shame, and it's strange that they completely left songs like Can't Stand it, Theologians, and Hoodoo Voodoo. Though i guess it was only 15 shows, so there's no telling what they'll play on these upcoming legs, just weird to me that they'd leave those live staples out.

  5. So it looks like the whole "stuff the ballot box" approach backfired, as we got neither Kingpin nor It's Just That Simple, but somebody who requested Less Than You Think was obliged and its fairly likely he or she was the only one who made that request. As I imagined, when it comes to the song request thing, they pretty much do what ever the hell they please regardless of how many votes a song gets. Maybe stuffing the ballot box pissed them off. Maybe they aren't that contrary, I don't really know. Thoughts?

I remember back in late 2009, somebody stuffed the box with a "Just a kid" request and they played it, but i feel like that doesn't always work. I know ballot box stuffing also helped get "Magazine Called Sunset" and "Cars Can't Escape" played at the first solid sound, but that's also probably because it was their own festival and they were catering to the die-hards. Sometimes they seem to pay very close attention, and others they seem to pay little to none.

  6. Honestly, this was one of the first songs that stood out to me on the first listen, and it's been one of my favorites ever since. I really hope they start playing this one live at least periodically, it could be a fun one. I love the Synthesizer arpeggios in the background, and the very cheesy organ sound. Just a fun song.
