  1. Who was in the band then? Mick Ronson, or Ariel Bender? That was about the end. Queen opened for them on that tour.

Ariel Bender. Ronson showed up later in the year.

IIRC (and my memories of those days are shall we just say a little hazy), Queen did not open for this show. I think I would remember that...

  2. I saw Mott The Hoople in my college days, 1974, when they played at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. Loudest band I ever heard live, before or since. It was an epic show and was broadcast live on FM, so naturally a bootleg appeared on vinyl not long after, a very faithful recording. They were a great live band. Not sure I'd want to sully that memory with a reunion show 35 years later...

  3. Yeah but if someone does capture it, let me know... it sounds great on the website!

I could easily do something like this, but am reluctant as it seems like something the band would not approve of. I mean, if they wanted to make this a downloadable show, they would have, right? Also, the QuickTime stream is very highly compressed, not exactly archive quality.

Would appreciate input from a moderator...

PS: We were at both nights in Vicar Street. Thursday was excellent, but this night was transcendent. After listening to this recording, I am even more convinced it is one for the ages. Hope this soundboard recording gets officially released in its full audio glory someday.
