  1. I was at that show as well. I think it was my first time traveling out of town to see the band, actually. You probably know this already, but the Lupo's they'll be playing in about 10 days isn't the same place they played back in '02. Same name, different venue.

    Hey bböp

    Did they improve it ?

Never Been to the old one but

    The Old HOB in Cambridge

Changes for the Better when they updated and came to Boston...i

lost the closeness but kept the warm helpful mentality unless of course someone sparks up of shoots pics down in front

otherwise next to our symphony hall/ berklee performance center HOB room is arguably the 3rd best for it's size /sound. imo

BTW Been Going to the Orpheum since the late 70's as a teen and would like it to stick around Ironically the Boston Symphony Started Playing there over a 100 yrs ago

    I LOVE IT

  2. I understand that at some shows U2 Springsteen* used to have Very Strong enforcement only in the Pit

It seems to me,we have arrived at a point that actually embraces the Cell/Camera Shots at Stadium Shows too large a crowd and it is shall a say expected esp @ U2 Bono asks for lit up phones on occasion.

Moving Forward on This Tour Some of my thought's

Terrific Rooms for these Boys to Play in Especially in what amount to 1/2 acoustic Fantastic.

It is a good idea to be : Thinking of those around you not just w/use of the Camera but Chatter and Timing of Beer/Bathroom breaks would be appreciated.

    e.g.

Last Tour this happened at the Orpheum in Boston.

Neil Young did Not Allow Liquids of any kind to be brought into hall untill after intermission.

I like Beer /Water but Hearing Neil Live is much Better and rarer as time, she marches on. (Dream came true when Wilco /Neil happened Dec.08)

So some friendly audience policing re cameras .. smile and mention the guy w/ blackberry if he likes his seat he should stop shooting, if he says w/Slurry words it's my Problem don't Worry... it will be.

See ya @ RI Boston NH ..

    Many thanks

1 lingering ? I will call Capitol and since I have aisle seats ck and see if they also sell refreshments inside.

BTW been seeing u2 since Joshua Tree (met w/ them in Boston on that tour)Fun Relaxed Conversation for 5-10 mins They were telling me they were going away for awhile Like 3 years

way too much hype from that album nationally Great Record but they made a Smart decision.

This U2 tour has to continue outside to brk even unannounced between Chicago /Toronto is 1 or2 dates here in July

Man I would be very happy w/ a 3rd short leg through their fave cities Inside in the Fall

a BIG THANK YOU for your help in NH a handful of people from BTX (Springsteen Long Term fan Website) are going to NH and Boston

I will copy and pass along

    :cheers

  4. Following up on NH realising only 1.300 I think the smallest room on this leg of the tour

But IF anyone has insight to the local Fine Beer/Food combo estblishment I would be appreciative.

    Savannah sounds fUn and Warm

But we will get our treasured Very Short Spring here soon..

btw the best local Beer Pub food for Boston Show is Beantown IMO steps to Orpheum

  5. Same? Re meetups for a bite/ beer specifically NH

Is the answer in another thread unfamliliar w NH local scene a little help is appreciated(local spot for pre show pub grub and cold berr @ reasonabkle prices

The boston location for that is the beanton pub (steps away) nachos there are goodipook tables and cD box as well!

Any meet ups gathering prior to Boston NH CT

    ty u2roolz

    now for the 2cd ?

Any meet ups gathering prior to Boston NH CT

  6. Dire Straits A very unique band for the period.

As mentioned some songs were overplayed but all in all a Great Band I wonder if they are in the hall of fame* (they are guilty of some big omissions)

Really enjoyed Mark Knoplers solo efforts Sailing to Philadelphia smoothed polished and significant.

Caught MK live here in Boston 4 yrs ago He can still Flat out play.

BTW he is returning this spring (SOLD OUT) here in Boston catch him if you get the chance!

  7. Jazzed about NH an evening with

can someone set me straight is Orpheum show also an Evening with

would be going to to Sunday in RI but it falls on Easter, Dam.

Also (newbie here) :unsure is there another thread for meet ups prior to shows...

    thanks in advance

  8. Played Muswell Hilbillies Lots as a teen in late 70s

    wiki info..

The album is a wide-ranging collection of Ray Davies compositions which focus on the frustrations and stresses of modern life

    My Fave .. 20th Century Man ..

Saw Ray Davies in the same place where Wilco is soon to play here in Boston 3 years ago See him if you get the chance ...

Reasonable price still sounds fine and the concert is well paced...by the end loads of fun***

  9. Just read this thread great comments esp off key singing It All ok w/ me unless it is acoustic

I go to the show to be among fellow fans and try to sing along at all the chorus singalongs..

e g Jesus ect Promised Land Durty Old Town

Back to this show around my 10th since 78

Really enjoyed the Complete Band Tour in 05 35th Songs from Tsongus avail used on Ebay short $$ lots of great moments.

In terms of the Venue/Band Great to see @ HOB sound in that room when mixed right as it was for this Band is our Best sound for Music outside of Symphony Hall/Berklee Performance ctr.

imo Steve Howe alone was worth my G A tkt price Wakemens son on the Keys looks like his Dad in the 70's and plays a little stiffly but intensely

Chris Squire just turned 62 today and was somewhat heavier than 5 yrs ago hmmm like myself and was less energetic than recent tours.

Alan was his usually timely self

The YOU TUBE auditioned singer sounded fine while a little overreaching at times BIG shoes to fill he certainly was entertaining but looking forward to seeing Jon again.

  10. After seeing my 10th plus winter olympics

I need to state that watching him last nite was akin to watching the Big Red Machine(Russia's Professional Hockey Team)

lose to our collegiate Hockey Team in 80

Not that our snow border faced tougher competition....

His toughest competition (it turned out) was himself and ... he kicked his own ass

Talk about RISING to the Occasion !

    Well done!

See You Big Fans in New England For a week I'm sure not to Forget!!

Now we have to think about the BOSTON Pre Party

    hmmmmm another topic 4 ltr..

  11. The Swinging Steaks from my Hometown of Needham MA

I mentioned to my friend in the Band a couple of yrs back that I'm really liking this band called Wilco..

He said that in (I think 96?) They were on a cover of Billboard w/ Wilco we both laughed He of course likes them as well

I invite you to check out there late 90's appearance on Conan here www.swingingsteaks.com

    Others
