  1. All I can add is that the show was fantastic. This had a different feel from the evening with show I attended. Just in your face rocking Wilco. My favorite kind of Wilco.

    Some dude: "Come on!"

Tweedy: "Come on? We're bringing it motherfucker you're the one sitting down."

Also to the dude complaining about Red Eyed and Blue to I Got You: First time I saw that and it might have been my favorite part of the show. That's what they don't scrap that. Its awesome.

  2. After a few listens of the new album this is easily my favorite track. This might be one of the best songs Jeff has ever written IMO. Anyone take a stab at the lyrics? I gave it a go, but it's a bit tough.

This is how I’ll tell him

    Oh, but its long

    One Sunday Morning

    Oh, one son is gone

    Against silhouette of dawn (?)

    Over the sea

My father said what I had become

    Oh, what should be

    Outside I look clued in

Like the poems in a shrine

    How am I forgiven

    Oh, I get time

    This I learned without wondering

    Over my bow(?)

In time you thought I would kill him

Oh, but I didn't know how

I said its your God I don’t believe in

No, your bible cant be true

Knocked down by the long life

He cried I fear what waits for you

    I can hear those bells

    Spoken and gone (?)

I feel relief, I feel well

Now he knows he was wrong

Hang him cold for my father

    Frozen underground

    Jesus I wouldn't bother

    He belongs to me now

    Something sad keeps moving

    So I, wander around

I fell in love with the burden

    Holding me down

    Bless my mind I miss

    Being told how to live

    What I learned without knowing

How much more that I owe than I can give

This is how I tell him

    Oh, but its long

    One Sunday Morning

    One son is gone

  3. Only song I don't care for is Captiol City. Right now its looking:

    Love:

    Art of Almost

    I Might

    Dawned on Me

    One Sunday Morning

    Great:

    Sunloathe

    Standing O

    Rising Red Lung

    Like:

    Black Moon

    Born Alone

Open Mind ( I think this is more of a tweedy solo song. Liked it more that way)

    Don't Like:

    Capitol City

But that's just my 2nd listen. So things will change.

  4. So my blue one arrived today. 2 qualms, my label is reversed, and the whammy guitar part in the chorus sound like its reversed :blink Something don't sound right.

Could be my fault, never played a 45 on my new turntable. But the label saying Side 1 when its Side 2 isn't.

  5. I never got a waiting room. Hoped on at 10am, got row 6 left center for Toronto night 2. Went back on 2 min later got row 3 right center for Toronto night 1. Was completely painless.

  6. It's a pretty great venue with good sightlines and it's one of the most storied concert halls in Toronto. Looking forward to seeing at least one of these shows.

Very, very excited. I just hope I can snag some prime seats on the 13th.

  7. For what it's worth, if you're a DBT fan, this is fantastic. Especially the two covers with David Hood on bass. A must have. Some of the best recorded live DBT, IMHO.

Just ordered it. Went and saw DBT for the 1st time on Sunday here in Buffalo and they were incredible. I was on the fence about buying this but after the show I practically ran home to order it.

  8. Just got back picked up:

An Introduction to Syd Barret $25 bucks, outrageous yes but I really wanted it.

    Neil Young - Decade $8

    Dad picked up

    Traffic - Last Exit $5

    Sister got

Fleet Foxes... I forget which album $17

    Dropped about $50 dollars.

  9. Go to flea markets, and places such as the Salvation Army. You will find records without paying some greedy person a bunch of money. I don't think I have ever paid over ten bucks for a record album.

I'm not going to be dropping $60+ dollars on a "rare" vinyl record by any means. But I don't have much of a collection so it's going to take a decent amount of dough to build it up. That was my point.

Also I'm not going to buy The Fugs record. I found it with the turntable, as in I already have it.

Right now I have that Dark Side of The Moon, a couple of Blue Oyster Cult records, and thats about it. My dad doesn't have much of a collection, he liked cassettes better.

I did just buy Being There and Summerteeth off the Wilco store. Works out since I didn't have them on CD either.
