  1. I thought it was a fantastic show. Band seemed to be in a good mood, especially Jeff. Smiling the whole time. Funny banter was Jeff trying to pronounce New Orleans correctly and telling the crowd that after five or six songs (the amount they got to play at the last Jazzfest before lightning stopped the show) everything else was gravy. Standouts for me were Art of Almost, Theologians, and Humingbird. Great crowd too. Lots of people with Dave Matthews and Earth, Wind and Fire playing at the same time.

  2. Great write-up.  I would add that it was definately a family affair.  The first two rows in the entire balcony were reserved for family (according to the signs and red stickers worn by a bunch of people).  My wife also met John's dad in the beer line and turned him onto a can of Hopitoulas.Super nice guy according to her.  The crowd was great, the vibe was great, and the band seemed to really feed off the energy.

  3. I believe the entire show is general admission.  As far as hotels go, there are too many to mention.  You can stay downtown, where the venue is.  There are lots of bars and restaurants in the area.  It is also within walking distance from the French Quarter and there tons of nice hotels, bars and all other forms of entertanment down there.  For a more mellow experience, you can stay in the Warehouse District, which is also in walking distance (but a little longer walk).  As far as the venue, it just underwent major renovations and Wilco may be one of the first shows.  I have read and heard that the renovations are amazing as is the entire building.  Can't speak on the acoustics.
