  1. I'm not a jazz fan so this line-up for this jazz festival looks absolutely great. Nothin says jazz like Wilco,Arcade Fire,Bon Jovi,Jimmy Buffet,...need I go on. I love the line-up but it might be time to rename this event.

Actually, there about five or six stages, plus a gospel tent and other forums. I would say at least half of the acts are jazz/local. It has been getting more indie lately, which is not a bad thing. But if you wanted to see just jazz and New Orleans music, you could go all five days and not see one indie or popular act. Just sayin'

  2. I also believe that this date will bode well for the southeast as similar area festival dates have done. I love NOLA but have never been to Jazz Fest. Would I be correct in assuming that the sets are abbreviated, meaning shorter than usual?

Ye. The sets are usually an hour to a hour and a half long. Last time Wilco played Jazz Fest in 2009, they squeezed about 18 or 19 songs in if I remember correctly. They blew through the set with little interruption. They were awesome though and tons of people showed up for the set.'

BTW, Thursday is absolutely the best Jazz Fest day. Much less crowded than weekends and mostly a local crowd.

  3. Download a BT client, like uTorrent. Once you do that, when you click on the eTree torrent everything else will happen pretty automatically. If you head to the "In a Future Age" portion of Via Chicago, there's a pinned thread with a How-To Guide to Torrents.

Thanks a lot. uTorrent is just what I was looking for. In the process of d/l'ing the show now but it looks like it is working. Thanks again!

  4. I know this has probably been addressed elsewhere but if anyone could help, I would appreciate it. How do you download the bittorrent?? I know how to convert FLAC files but downloading the actual bittorrent from etree is baffling. Thanks.
