I remember when I went to the theater and saw Naked Gun the first time .... I was laughing so hard that I was doubled over in pain .. I was still laughing well after whatever scene was over that people were staring at me

I am hesitant to post but I in my 53 years have not seen very few bands of integrity, creativity and openess to their soul that I wouldnt want ot give the benifit of the doubt that the next effort will be great .. it wil be like none of the past efforts but it will be a full expression of where they are as a collective and as where they are as individuals
Good to see folks gearing up to hate something that hasn't been made yet. Being a fan is awesome.
I'll take devil's advocate; no one has heard any of it, but based on a subjective laundry list, I'm 86% sure it's better than half their albums- objectively speaking.

Those are just the low rez versions that I posted
most those the actual size is large

I also had no clue what that was, but now that you say it, I totally see it, and I love it!
I would love to include some original artwork, and yours is beautiful! I'm wondering about the sizes, though. Some of your pieces that I checked out there on your flickr seem like they'd be too small to work. Do you have other sizes of those, or maybe I just didn't check out enough of them and missed a bigger one? Thanks!

Thanks so much! This was done about a year ago. He knows enough Wilco songs now to play a full show almost! Dude has been playing along with the Ashes dvd since it came out. His thing this week is pretending a pirate eye patch is a bra(or boobie-thing as he calls it) that someone threw onstage and he picks it up with his guitar neck, then tosses it back. Priceless.
Look there is a pirate on somebody's shoulder no there are 3 pirates!

you are correct

Since I stuck my foot in my mouth badly on another thread I have to say I am 100% sure it will be good

Honestly my appologies for offending .... I should have worded the whole thing differently or perhaps just kept my thoughts to myself
How about it appears to me that a limited number of people who got into Wilco in the early days "seem" less open to the newer stuff. Its a dynamic that isnt limited to Wilco fans. I guess I recently got into them and I find them to be a stunning band it bothered me for some reason but I worded like an ass.

"You should do this more often; brings out a side of you I'm sure you're proud of.
Don't shit all over the dining room table and announce, "Happy Thanksgiving!" when you're done. This is a message board, where people with a variety of opinions post on a variety of topics, including Wilco. If you can't gird your loins and deal with the fans who post you might want to stick to just listening to the band.
Too sensitive for the internet, maybe? Merry Christmas"
Sorry about shitting on the dinner table ... Im old and forgot my depends last night. + I should have a breathalyzer on my keyboard it would save me from antagonizing people .... but the jist of my post is its just something I have observed (not just here)that there are some people who get into a band early dont adjust to the changes that like to live in the past .. it was brought on when I read on another board how Nels Cline ruined the band .... it just has been a pet peeve of mine since joining VC
and I sincerely meant Happy Thanksgiving

seriously I was lucky to get into Wilco later .. cuz I can appreciate EVERY incarnation .. it is ALL good … I dont spend my time whinning about this line up or that one ….I find it all pretty silly and find the critics do it to just seem hip …..its like the whinners would have wanted the Beatles to not go from rubber soul to Abbey Rd … its friking ART my friends enjoy it .. quit whinning about the past ….how abqout if I would have known you 15 years ago how would you like me going, damn you were such a better person back in 1994 YAWN! .. seriously I have had a several drinks and I am just cranky .. I think I will listen to New Madrid and follow it up with You and I just to confuse the shit out of myself .. have a wonderful Thanks Giving

Mentioned earlier .. but Jerry Jeff Walker is great outlaw country

When I used to book bands and was looking for clubs in Chicago I remember seeing my favorite band name playing at some club there ...."Magnolia Sugarpussy"

Rich Mullins was the real deal, actually lived it out .. lived on an indian reservation teaching kids music

Thanks ....
Their stuff is so ubiquitous that I think people were sticking to things a touch less known. But yeah, the Beatles early stuff is the epitome of perfect pop music.
edit: dark, to get the youtube links to work you need to post the url between these:

For some reason the site isnt letting me upload a vid so here is the link of the perfect pop song ... and seriously how can there not be any Beatles in all these posts
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iC6D2N4nylg
Just consider all of Revolver and Rubber Soul as perfect pop albums

People think too much .. I read this thread well should say I scanned it ....as far as the next Wilco album I look forward to it and I am sure it will be an artistic statement that people will either get or they wont .. some will accept it for what it is and others would swear that they missed the boat and find all kind of fault with it ... some look at art and all they see is the brush strokes and miss the feel and arent moved on some level
-
What a great time .. My first Wilco show .... met some great folks.. drank many expensive 24oz ballbark beers ....the show was even better than I anticipated and that is saying ALOT .... cant wait to do it again
-
Yea I am getting pumped up now .. went to the store and ran into 2 friends at 2 differnt times who were supposed to go to the show but couldnt .. they were jealous of me which seldom happens
