  1. Yeah, I totally understand. I'd be weirded out if Jeff recognized me from all the requests I've made on the site for The Long Cut. The name is Rodion, and I'll do a better job of introducing myself next time. For me, you're as much a part of Wilco lore as Bob Egan.
  2. I don't think that cold begins to describe what it was like at the show. Travelled with friends from San Diego to be here, and I definitely wasn't prepared for the weather. Found myself further from the stage than I would have liked, by the heaters to stave off frostbite, but still really enjoyed the show. I'd like to second the sentiment that despite the horrible weather conditions, Wilco really played with the passion that rivaled their smaller, indoor gigs. It did suck to come all the way out here for an abbreviated show, but it's nothing the band could have prevented. It was a lot of
  3. Sorry, the picture is small, and I could only make out a portion of your thumb. As for Guitarzan ... yeah ... I was pretty surprised. I mean, the lyrics as I thought they were made no sense to me, but I paid them no mind. I think I was also thrown for a loop by New Madrid's "carries 'em over the land, Phil" until I read about "caroms".
  4. I wouldn't lie to you sir. http://wilcoworld.net/#!/song/i-got-you-at-the-end-of-the-century/ Even though the official site gets it a little wrong. We all know that Jeff isn't much of a stickler for lyrics.
  5. I had to look it up. The only reason I know about any of this is after listening to the 4/8/2006 solo show: http://www.wilcobase.com/event.php?event_key=949 I sought it out since it was the 2nd to last time he played The Long Cut, which is my favorite JT song. On that note, if anyone has a recording of the 2/4/2009 show, let me know. http://www.wilcobase.com/event.php?event_key=1167 I'm desperate to get my hands on it, and Wilco refuses my repeated web requests to play that song anymore.
  6. Guitarzan and your friend Janine.
  7. I've been listening to Being There since it came out and always thought it was "You're Tarzan and you're friend Janine." It's kinda nice to revisit a song and learn something new about it. Reading the lyrics sorta ruins the mystery for me.
