  1. As far as style of music goes, I've really been shooting for a Rock 'n roll/alt country thing, as a result of my obsession with Whiskeytown.. I already have a couple of Tele's for the twangy country flavored stuff, and needed something with some kick and gain for the rockers so I thought maybe this Jazzmaster would do the trick. Hoping so!

  2. How do you guys feel about this model? I've heard great and bad. It looks great, feels classic, and sounds great with the JM pickup on the neck and humbucker on the bridge. But I've also heard the bridge itself is crap, and should be replaced, (Nels puts Mastery's on all his guitars) and I've also heard a few complaints about the humbucker being way too hot. I've played it at Guitar Center before and was really impressed, but if anyone owns or has owned it, and would like to tell me what to expect, let me know! I've always wanted a Jazzmaster and am really pumped I finally am able to get one. I just hope its worth the money I'm about to pay for it.

  3. Not sure who cares, or why I even felt the need to tell you guys, but today I officially graduated High School. With no further schooling plans, and a guitar in hand, I can honestly say I'm a bit nervous for the future. But excited. Any words of wisdom are appreciated!

  4. Little late to the party, but I'm trying to start my journey into the Dead. Where is a good place to start? I good friend of mine is a huge fan, and told me Europe 72 is good, but I would actually prefer to start with a  studio album.

  5. I just loosened the relief on the truss rod, and we are good to go! Now we face another problem: Since I tried to file down the nut slot, the G string now rings and rattles on the frets while playing. Looks like I'm buying a new nut after all.

  6. Yeah, I have posted over there a few times since the tour started. I'd never checked it out before, though. Hope I didn't say anything that pissed you off... :)

I'm a member of two years, under the same name. I don't take any of the smart remarks on their too seriously so don't worry. Its StonesTod and Max'sKC you have to look out for haha

  7. Hey guys. On my Telecaster, my G string goes out of tune on the 2nd fret only. Tried filing down nut slot, but it did nothing. Changed the string, did nothing. Sounds perfectly fine and in tune while playing a C or G chord because I'm putting no pressure on the G string. Fmaj sounds terrible. What else can be done?

  8. I read that this morning and started pounding the desk with my fist in frustration (that I missed it) AND excitement (that they did it at last). And they did it one show after the show I saw! Aaarrrgggghhhh!!!! My two favorite Mick Taylor songs in addition to Rambler. They should have been doing this all along, goddammit!

Looks like I'll be going to see them again if they do another US leg in the fall....

Shug, are you a member of the IORR community?

  9. In about two weeks, there is going to be a thread on here that reads:

So an employee of mine really turned me on to Wilco. Every time I came by to check on how he was working, Wilco was playing and it was just magical. I went out and bought a few albums and can't stop listening. Now that I think about it, I should have just given him a raise....damn...

  10. As much as I love the Stones and adore the music, they really have disappointed me in this ticket process. They want you to pay that much money for a seat to see them play all their warhorses. This tour they have given a few surprises (Emotional Rescue, Live With Me, Dead Flowers, Factory Girl) but other than those, they just play the same Stones set fans have seen for nearly three decades, for $300 more. Also, a lot of interviews leading up to this tour indicated Mick Taylor was going to play a whole lot more than one song every night. Great to have the legend on stage..but giving him and Gwen Stefani both one song in the set, says something about Jaggers current character and mindset. Pretty depressing. It really sucks for someone like me, who has yet to see them and now, may never get the chance, as a 17 year old with a shitty job.

I saw Dylan live in November playing a great mix of the staple songs, and the deep tracks that I never thought he'd whip out...for $100, 7th row. McCartney plays in the same manner that the Stones do, with all the hits and some surprises, for hundreds of dollars less. None of their current equals are pulling what they are with tickets. Its an annoyance.
